I really want to wear a tiara for my wedding in May, but just wondering if anyone thinks this is tacky, or too childish. I don't want to look like it's my sweet 16 lol. What do you girls think?

I personally don't like tiaras, but I never have and never will, they're just not for me.  Lots of women wear them for their weddings though, so if you want to, I say do it.

Or, another option if you're worried about it looking too sweet 16 might be a hair comb or flower?  They can be a little on the spendy side, but I recently bought a hair clip from haircomesthebride.com, and it's pretty, sparkly, without being an actual tiara or flower.  I'm really happy with it.

Check it out, or check out Etsy for lots of cute stuff.  Bottom line, it's your wedding, so if you want a tiara, rock it!

It depends on the tiara, i suppose.

I tend to think of it as a young look.

Maybe post some you like and we'll weigh in on them

I like tiaras too! Just do what makes you happy! I found a few I like on here:

I like when they look more like a headband rather than something high off you head.

I'm personally not a tiara person, except Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's.  I would rock that little tiara all day!  I'm doing a hair clip so nothing too blingy for me.

My question would be, do you want to wear blingy earrings or a flashy necklace? If so, I would consider that in your decison for a headpiece. I feel that less is more.

I'm using flower hair pins in the back of my do (half up, half down-pics in bio) instead of any sort of headband or tiara, because my earrings are very sparkly and large. No necklace.

I've never liked tiaras.  I think of them as something all the girls wear to their prom because they want to be the prom princess or something.

That being said, it is only my opinion.  If you want to wear one on your wedding day, that is completely your decision.

There are lots of beautiful headbands with crystals and such. Its a bit more of an adult take on a tiara. That being said, I think a very classy tiara cold be very beautiful with the right dress, venue, and rockin' attitude.

My aunt, who was over 40 when she got married, wore one and she didn't look childish, it was very pretty. Her theory was that it was the one time it would be acceptable for her to wear one in public so go for it! I agree with some of the PPs though that you have to be carful to get one that's not too promy.

I personally don't like them... but I don't think they look ridiculous or out of place on a bride. Just not for me. :)

When I first got engaged, and before I went dress shopping, I said I wanted a tiara. As my "wedding style" evolved and I got my dress I realized I didn't, and the main reason was like your concern (that it would look too childish). There are some headband/tiaras that look like a combo of the two, but in a more tasteful and grown up way. But if you really want one, wear it!

Wear whatever you want to.

This may be your only chance to wear one. I wore mine backwards as more of a comb, but they come in all shapes and sizes. Go try them on and see if it feels right.
