Has anyone ordered bridesmaids dresses from China?? I've been wrestling with the idea, but I'm afraid my bridesmaids won't like the dress on after they order it.. I'm looking at these two sites: http:

I've never really heard good things about these sites. These look like dresses from name-brand designers, so they're probably knockoffs. Designers sell through authorized retailers and often there's a rock-bottom price that they're not allowed to undercut.

Plus, I wouldn't ask  your girls to buy something without trying it on first, unless the return policy is 100% legit and easy. Like from a department store or something.

If you want actual "bridesmaid dresses," I would go with them to a salon and ask them to try things on and see what they like. You can get them at wholesale prices through netbride.com, pearlsplace.com and RK Bridal.

Or, check out department stores like Macy's and Nordstrom. I was just looking on there today for a dress as a wedding guest and there are a bunch of nice options for $100 or less. The dresses for my wedding were from AnnTaylor.com and cost $129 apiece during one of their frequent 40% off sales (I just looked and there's a 40% off sale today, actually) ... one girl had to do an exchange and it was no problem. The whole process, from selection to ordering to delivery to the return, was done in a week. Easy peasy.

Ditto PP. I have not heard good things. The dresses often look handmade/cheap, and it is very difficult or impossible to get a refund/return.

Go to a department store or local boutique if all your BMs are local. If they are spread out and they can afford a dress at a big name bridal store like Alfred Angelo and David's, then go with a store like that. Then they can go to their local store and order.

Or you can make it super easy and say get a black, sleeveless, knee length dress. Done.

I've not used the sites but wouldn't recommend it. If budget is an issue, you can definitely find nice and legit cheaper dresses other places. Try department stores or even target (they have BM dresses, just learned that recently!)

From what I've heard about the sites, the fabic is horrible- returns/getting your money back is super hard. Go to the attire and accessories page and do a search for more info.

The more I looked at those sites, the more I was sure I didn't want to take that route. But I've checked out the wholesale websites and had much success. I will be going to look at how the dresses I like actually look on my bridesmaids before they order them, so that should help out too.

I would advise against knock offs from China. I have seen pictures of what people ordered vs what they got and the problems were major-- anything from lopsided dresses to improper sizes. There are tons of affordable options that are much safer, like department stores or used bridal stores.

I ordered my bridesmaid dresses from www.jjshouse.com.
The dresses are stunning and I am very happy with them.

jjshouse.com also sells knockoffs from china, but.. a friend of a friend bought a dress from them to use as a reception dress.  She thought it was beautiful and perfect so she is also going to order her gown from them.  just fyi
