I've always wanted short dresses. After an unsuccessful trip with my MOH (also my sister), I am not questioning what to do. She is heavier than my BMs and the dresses (every short dress in the store) were not flattering. I guess my question is....can my MOH wear a long dress and the BMs wear a short dress? I don't want uniformity (meaning they can pick their own short dresses in the same color) but don't want it look weird with one long dress and everyone else short???? Thoughts/suggestions appreciated!

I am having the same problem.. I am more concerned with my MOH than my bridesmaid.. I thought about finding a dress that flatters them and not worry so much about short vs long.. good luck

As long as just your MOH wears an longer dress/gown then the bridal party should look fine.

I agree, a lot of the short dresses are realllly short if you are a larger size. My MOH ended up buying a tea-length dress that she said she is willing to have altered so it is shorter but still appropriate and flattering on her body. The dress itself is from David's Bridal and it was around $100. Even with alterations, the price will still be pretty reasonable.

Yes, it would be fine. Your MOH wouldn't look funny standing out because she is, well, your MOH. But I agree with PPs, check out department stores, just in the same color.

She's MOH, so that's not an issue, and even if it was, your first issue is her comfort, not your idea of a perfect BM dress. Not to sound harsh, but as a bigger girl, if you asked me to wear a short strapless dress that made me look like a sausage? I'd tell you no f#@$ing way!
