 I am ordering bridesmaid dresses.  They all LOVE the style but want the dress in Silver instead of Lilac.  My colors are Silver and Lilac.  The silver is only because the groom said he will not be caught dead wearing Lilac.  I am wondering if the silver is too light for an outdoor September wedding.  How can I show that lilac is also a color?

I don't think the groom's color preference needs to be a factor in choosing dresses. If they prefer silver I might let them do that if you're not too concerned about the color. They could have lilac sashes.

 I think lilac would be really easy to bring in with flowers or other decor. Leaving it out of the WP's attire is totally fine, and definitely okay for a September wedding.

 The groom doesn't normally match the BMs, they match the bride. They normally wear a white vest, or possibly a black vest. Your BMs also don't HAVE to match the GMs vest. You can have the BMs in lilac, and the GMs in silver, and it'll be no big deal.

 IMO silver is a color that is much more easily rewearable which is probably why they want it instead of the lilac. Also, silver is a neutral color so it fits into every season. Why don't you just have them all carry lilac colored flowers? And if FI doens't care you could have the GM wear lilac colored vests or have them wear lilac colored boutonnieres.
