Things are slow, and I haven't mentioned our honeymoon much. Most of you probably remember that Graham's parents surprised us with a trip to Virginia Beach! We left Sunday evening after the wedding. It took us all afternoon to pack everything at the farm then unpack it at our houses. I got little sleep the night before, but the new DH wanted to leave and stay at his brother's that night in Richmond. It is only two hours from there to Virginia Beach. We made it to the D.C. area sometime after 11pm and got stuck in terrible traffic on the highway. When we finally made it out, we had to find a place to stay. Motel 6, baby! I was passing out, and Graham was exhausted. In the morning, we finished the trip and got lunch at the hotel. When we checked into our room, we were on the third floor and noticed that our balcony was over the pool. We could see the ocean from a side view, but it wasn't an ocean front room as his family had told us. We weren't too concerned, but Graham thought he would ask at the desk to make sure in case his family had paid for a more expensive room. The woman at the desk told him they had asked for an ocean view room but an ocean front wouldn't be a problem because they were slow that week after the hurricane the week before. She changed the room, and Graham thanked her and said something along the lines of, "Not much could make us unhappy this week since we're on our honeymoon!" The woman said, "I'll do you one better! I'm going to put you in one of our suites! " She changed the room a third time and told Graham that she wouldn't tell him much about it and he would really like it.Graham came outside to get me and told me all of this on our way to get our bags from the old room and take them to the new room. We were on the 8th floor, and he kicked the door open and let me go in first. It was awesome! A couch and two chairs, flat screen tv, dining table, and kitchenette with fridge, microwave and sink! It was also decorated well and didn't have the awful floral linens that were in our first room. There were two balconies that were right on the beach! Shortly after, I discovered that the bathroom had a jacuzzi tub (which I used often!)That night, we had an awesome dinner. Graham got up to use the bathroom, and when the waitress came back, she said, "Do I mind if I ask you a question? Are you on a date or is it a special occassion? I'm just wondering because you're all dressed up and young." I told her we were actually on our honeymoon, and she squeeled and hugged me! She returned with two glasses of champagne for us! It was soo good. I think it was really the luckiest week of our lives. We asked the locals for recommendations every day and had the best dinners! Otherwise, we just enjoyed the beach and relaxing for a few days. I'm aching to go back! It's tough to have such a relaxing week then jump back into school, work and a new internship! Blah.
