Wedding Day Beauty - What will you do?

Besides the ever popular lose weight, grow hair longer, etc. etc. I'm curious as to whether or not you ladies are doing anything dramatic to look your best for your day..

My roommate from college put braces on her bottom teeth.  I debated bonding a front tooth that is slightly darker than the other.

Any big changes you plan on making?

Re: Wedding Day Beauty - What will you do?

  • I'm whitening my teeth only because my dentist will do it for $99. I wouldn't have done it if it was more than that! I also bought a Groupon for 3 facials. I had my first one like a week ago. Again, nothing crazy and I only did it because I found a Groupon.

  • I am getting a full head of high lights like I normally do. I am also probably having my teeth bleached but they are already really white naturally, so I may not.
Otherwise, I am not doing anything.

  • Nope, I already use whitening toothpaste and I feel no need to look dramatically different on the day I marry my best friend. He fell in love with me just the way I am and I'm keeping myself that way.

  • I will be getting my teeth whitened as well, and doing all the normal pampering and hair coloring a week or few days before. Nothing too dramatic though. I'll also start tanning 2 months prior (which I am totally against-but decided my wedding was the only OK excuse to start indoor tanning again-and I will stop right after the wedding), but I get spray tans a lot so I wont look too different, I just dont want to risk looking orangey at all.

  • I will be doing a home teeth whitening.

I too, will also be going tanning. I am so pale white, I need a little color. I know it's not good for you, but I'm going to do it for at least 3 months prior to my wedding. I always burn, so it will only be a few minutes at a time. Uliminated tanning is inlcuded in my gym membership, but I haven't done it in years.

I'm also starting to get back into my daily routine with Mary Kay cleansers & moisturizers. Not sure why I stopped, but boy do I see the difference with how dry my skin gets.

  • I'll be whitening my teeth but not just for the wedding, I do it once a year about that time anyway.

I'm also going to go tan a little bit.  Again, not so much for the wedding but for the HM so I don't burn.  Once I get a base I'm good to go.  Beyond that, tanning helps hide some of my scars.

I'm also going to be dying my hair.  I recently started dying it and I want to not have roots showing.

  • I'm going to get my teeth whitened, but it's something I've wanted to start doing for a while, so I'm finally going to just do it.

I'm also going to get a tan - not overkill - just some color, but I have to be SUPER careful because my parents just got a boat. I'll definitely have to make sure I wear a strapless bikini and don't wear the life vest for water skiing too long!! That would be terrible. I really don't want to have to deal with a spray tan and sweating and it making the inside of my pretty blush liner orange.

I'm also thinking about starting the process of getting my legs waxed. It would be so wonderful to not have to worry about shaving on the wedding day or all honeymoon. I have a tendency to knick myself anyways, so it would be a nice change. haha It takes about 3 times for your hairs to all grow at the same time, so I think I'll start the end of March/beginning of April.

I will either be doing a home teeth whitening or looking into having my dentist do it... other than that I will start tanning two months prior... I love tanning anyways (even tho it is soooo bad for you) but I have acne and it helps to clear it up and keep it clear... I also feel like my teeth look whiter when I am tan.... not to mention my dress is WHITE and it will look killer with tanned skin =)
  • I am doing home teeth whitening (which isnt new).... facials (Jan, March and June), I am going to try to get a bit of a tan so I dont look pastey... normal highlights in my hair.... I also plan to get waxed.

Kelsey- Are you getting your legs waxes multiple times? I am confused by your post... can you explain more?

  • I'm also tanning. I already tan every other day (max in the beds I go in) so I'll just keep going
  • Definitely tanning.  And my dentist is giving me free teeth whitening for my wedding also :)

    Exactly this!
  • Tanning just a little.
I'm being more careful with my skincare (rx from dermatologist). I have acne issues (going on 13 years now, so frustrating) I'm trying to be more consitstant with what I'm supposed to do.  Wash night & day, apply Rx at night, green tea masks onces a week (FI laughs at me when i walk around with green mud on my face for 20 mins).  And I just realized this morning that the foundation I'm currently using is not oil free, so that might be causing some of my current problems.  I'll be switching tomorrow.
    Maybe whitestrips,
Planning on getting highlights again.  I used to have them all the time, got too expensive so I stopped.
    No big changes though.

  • I started growing my hair dye out at the beginning of the summer so I'm hoping that it will be gone by the wedding (it's gotten to the point where I can tell that the ends are lighter than the roots, but I can't tell exactly where in my hair the dye is).

In September I also changed BC from a 3-month cycle to a 1-month. My OB-GYN said as soon as she saw me, "What happened to your face??" My acne had really flared up and it was awful. The new BC has really cleared up my face, but I really need to start washing my face at night again...

I'm going to get some Whitestrips in a couple of months to whiten my teeth a little. Tried a cheaper brand about 5 years ago and it irritated my gums. I'm hoping Crest won't be as bad.

I will be getting a manicure and pedicure the day before (never had them before, so this is a major thing to me haha).

I am actually going to try as hard as possible to stay as pale as I am now. FI thinks my pale skin is beautiful so I'm going to try to keep it that way. I'm part Scottish so my skin is naturally pale and I burn when I get sun. If I do go over to Asia in April for work I'm going to stock up on loose blouses that will be cool but still cover everything and a big hat to protect my face.

Overall, the only real thing that will look different is my mani/pedi. My teeth are white enough, but against a white dress I want to make sure they don't look yellow! I doubt people will notice that they're whiter, though.

  • L&J, good for you. I've never tanned a day in my life and I don't plan on starting ever. For any reason.

<div>Ditto. Any tans I get (which is never much of a tan) is when I forget to wear sunscreen when I'm outside in the summer. </div><div>
</div><div>Funny story, I was in a friend's wedding in September, and she's Puerto Rican. I was out with her and her grandmother and uncle the day before or two days before the wedding, and she wanted to stop at the tanning salon. Her grandmother was asking why she needed to tan, and she said, "Have you seen me?? I'm so pale!"</div><div>

  • That's funny! Some of my BMs are like me in that they never tan but said something about wanting to for my wedding. I told them I wasn't and they shouldn't feel pressured to do that for me. Obviously the final decision is theirs but it was just so out of character for some of them.
  • 2 of my 3 BMs are tanning for my wedding because they tan regularly anyways then the 3rd one is buying self tanner from me

Agreed, I've never seen the point of it. <div>
</div><div>True story - a girl I went to high school with her skin started taking on an orange tint from tanning so much.  I've seen many people like that and it always made me wonder why in the hell you would do that to yourself.</div>
  • I will be tanning a little so I don't fry in Mexico. It also clears up my acne on my back and shoulders that I get from my conditoner. (I have tried switching, nothing helps, I just live with it.)

I may use some white strips for my teeth. FI may do this too.

I am going to get my hair cut, bangs mostly, to suit the hair I want for the wedding.

Other than that, nothing is going to change.

i'm not tanning, the opposite in fact, i'm taking care to stay out of the sun and use more SPF in my regular daily moisturizer.  i was a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding last weekend and was talking to one of the other BMs, thinking she was my age.....she is 20 years older than me but looks my age.  guess her secret is staying outta the sun.  haha

totally not judging anyone who does tan....i used to do it in high school, but just decided its not for me anymore.

thinking i''ll get my love to start whitening HIS teeth prior to the wedding, lol.  my teeth are pretty white so i'm still on the fence about doing the whitening for myself too.  Planning to do mani/pedi the day before the wedding, but not sure if i'm going to do it myself or go to a salon. ...although now that i think of it, my hands will probably be in a lot of pictures so i should probably let a professional do the mani!:)

I would LOVE to get laser hair removal, but i just can't stomach that cost on top of all of the wedding expenses.

  • I am doing the teeth whitening.  FI's mom is a receptionist at our dentist's office so she is buying the kit and that's all we have to pay for.  I think we plan on doing that in May when we get our cleanings.

I am also thinking about spray tanning.  I should ask my MUA about that because I might want to do that before my hair and makeup trial.  They do that at the salon that is doing my hair and makeup.  Tanning beds don't do anything for me.  Last year, on June 28th I sat in the sun and got FRIED and had nasty lines.  I promised myself I wouldn't do that this year 2 days before my wedding.  I guess if I'm tan enough I won't do it, but I want to try it out ahead of time just in case.

I will also have my mani/pedi/eyebrow wax probably the day before the wedding.  The nail salon my mom, 2 aunts, 2 cousins and I go to in the summer has a membership card with points so we all accumulate the points on two cards because my mom wants to be able to have "the works" paid for for me by using the points.

  • I'm in the "odd" group... I may be cutting my long hair off in between my ceremony and reception. =D We're really considering it. I think it would be so awesome to go to the ceremony with long beautiful hair, then making our entrance at the reception with the short bob I realllllllllllllly miss. We'll see, if I get my hair long enough I might not. Who knows. =]
  • I have been keeping up with my beauty regiment more than usual!  Meaning getting a haircut every 6-8 weeks getting my highlights done regularly.  Putting face cream on day and night.  Eyebrows done regulary, keeping my nails nice.
When the day gets closer I will def use creast whitestrips or something like that.  I am thinking about doing a smal beuty day with the girls before hand maybe a mani pedi depending on budget (and timing).
Day of hair and light makeup!
