I want a fall wedding, the trees are beautiful! However, I do not like those colors for a wedding. I want to do BM dresses in olive or sage green. I kind of just want to pull in brown and tan/cream. I do not think this is "fally" though. I just don't like that dark purple and not sure if a burnt orange would look good with teh green. WHAT SHOULD I DO? I've been trying to look at pics of other October weddings, just not crazy about anything.

I don't think you need to do fall colors at all even if you are having a fall wedding.  The green and brown/cream sounds really pretty.  I think you should just go with the colors you want, regardless of the season your wedding is!

I agree. Your colors don't necessarily have to be fall... But if you love the trees, and are having your wedding outside, hot pink and neon green probably wouldn't be a good idea. Haha. And I realize this is not what you want, it's just a comical and obvious thought to be made. I think it is better for your colors not to clash with your venue, not the season (but if the season is your venue, ie: outdoors). I am doing fall colors because I like them, but also because my church where I am getting married at has burgandy carpets, brick walls and a wooden raftered ceiling. Trust me, I have seen more than one wedding there where the bride has not taken into consideration the decor that already exists... and it has not been pretty.

I think that your idea of sage green and cream sound lovely! If you wanted a third color I might add in burgandy or a pale gold (maybe with burgandy but in lieu of the cream?). And a brown would look good as well. I would fancy up the brown by using something with sparkle. (My brown invites are pearlescent - love them!). I agree that burnt orange would not look the best with the green.

Good luck!

If you want to use green, olive green goes well with both brown and burnt orange.

I'm having a wedding next October. My fiance wanted orange, green and white. He doesn't like the burnt orange and I didn't care for a dark green, so we agreed on a tangerine orange and a light lime green. They are more natural colors that you can find in nature AND the brides will look good in either color.

my colours are light green, ivory and brown- so quite similar.  Im having a woodland theme (ivy and wood accents, lots of candles etc) so it ties in a bit with the season.  So I think you should stick with your colours, there are other ways of bringing the season in.

I'm having a fall wedding next year, I'm doing either brown, lime green and cream/ivory or black candy apple red and cream/ivory. Not sure which one. to me it's a more modern twist to traditional fall colors. The brown will calm down the lime green and the black would calm the red. I am having a rustic/antique inspired wedding at an apple orchard. So that's where my colors are coming from. Think outside the box a little, it doesnt have to be dark fall leave colors like evey other fall wedding you've seen. Just do what looks right to you. I agree the venue matters, either of my choices will look nice with the apple orchard in the background and the barn reception I'm planning. So just have fun and dont think you have to fit any sort of mold :) it's your wedding!

I've seen some really beautiful green and brown fall weddings. There are even a few pics in the fall bio (link in siggy). Definitely one of my favorite color schemes!

My wedding is next october in Wisconsin. I have a love/hate relationship with fall colors. I love them in nature but think they are kind of overdone for weddings. I am actually doing jewel tones of Royal Blue and Dark purple.

I honestly like the way Coral looks with Olive. It's one that I considered because I think the cream color is also nice with it. I saw a "pinker" version of coral next to olive and it was sooo pretty. Like a fresh updated take on "fall colors" modern without the burgundy, orange and yellows.

Gold would also look fabulous with Olive Green and Cream. :) If you wanna go for the gusto you could do Olive, Coral, Gold & Cream.

Try this: http://www.theperfectpalette.com/search/label/Olive

You'll find a ton of ideas, and it's a bit overwhelming but it does help once you get over the initial shock of ALL of the pretty palettes!

PS -  I think I'm doing  Marine, Raspberry, Coral and Ivory (with Antique Gold accents!)   Maaaybe. LOL

I am doing dusty pink, champagne, ivory, honey wheat, and the girls are wearing black.  I originally was going with the "traditional' fall colors, but decided those werent my dream colors.  Don't limit yourself!  Choose the colors you love and I guarantee it will be beautiful!
