Hi! I'm a new member here. (:

My wedding is mid-october, noon to 4, all DIY and I was thinking of serving a few easy appetizers and a lunch. I was thinking of turkey & cheese/Ham & cheese sandwiches on whole wheat. Maybe a tomato soup. A tossed salad and a few different dressings. My fiance and I work and live on a farm, so I'd love to use our grown pumkins as centerpieces, our own lettuce for the salad. We grown butternut squash. Anywho, nothing is set in stone yet as far as food is concerned.

I'm kind of lost at appetizers. Maybe a fruit display(apples, pears, peaches, grapes). Maybe bread with homemade butter, apple butter, homemade jam, nutella. Maybe Sunchips and dip.

I need some more fall lunch ideas. But nothing too complicated, I don't want too much food since it's early in the day or time spent in the kitchen. This isn't a super-fancy wedding. It's outdoorsy & woodland. Only about 40 guests.

Soup shooters with pureed pumpkin, sweet potato or butternut squash soup would make a great appetizer as these can be made in advance and re-heated at the wedding.  A slow cooker is great for reheating soup.   Each serving of soup is served in an individual shot glass.   It would be warming on a cool fall day.

Butternut squash ravioli in a mustard cream sauce is another idea.  The ravioli can be made ahead easily but I don't know if the cream sauce can

Displays of cheese wtih grapes for sweet and olives for savory and fresh whole grain breads.    Leave the bread and cheese whole and provide a bunch of knifes and cutting boards for cutting off slices.

Magdala's posted some great ideas on soups and ravioli.
The only thing I was going to add was that you mentioned pumpkins. Could it be worth making pumpkin pies? Those could be frozen ahead of time and just defrosted and served the night before.
Otherwise, if you have fruit like apples, then there are simple desserts like apple crumble, eve's pudding, cobbler, apple pie etc.
