You can use whatever inspiration that you please. I used the fall colors and harvest as our decorations, but if you want a mystical idea I think by using small things here and there it won't look childish or anything.
Maybe a fairy cake topper, lots of trees lit up with hanging lights, branches for the arch, a flowy dress, braided hair. That sorta thing.

I'm getting married on the same day. We are having a Snow White Themed wedding. She is my favorite for many reasons. We got engaged at Disney's Halloween Party as Snow White & Prince Charming in front of the Evil Queen. So we are carrying the theme over to the wedding. Our colors are blue, yellow and red, like her dress. It's not going to look like a kid's b-day party. We are having apple as centerpieces. A wishing well to hold the cards. Little things here & there.
If you google fairytale, their is soo many idea's that come up.

I'm getting married that day as well. We are going with a orange and brown color scheme. We definitely want pumpkins involved. I think whatever you choose is fine though. Mixing it up might actually be better than the same old "fall" colors. Best of luck!

I am getting Married that same day as well, there are sooo many colors you can use fall has alot gorgeuous colors I am using a deep purple color

I am getting married a few days before, on October 13th...I am actually having a hard time trying to figure out my style! I think we are trying to do a "new england harvest/halloween" with lots of pumpkins and leaves, apples and little halloween things Ibut not over powering) like little black ravens or black cats...?

I too am a 10/20/12 bride. My color scheme is chocolate and teal just because those are my favorites and I'm going for a "Homemade Romance" theme with quilts, mason jars, lace, etc. I was thinking about injecting the fall colors into my flowers, but we'll see. As for your fairy tale theme I think that the fall colors could be part of your "enchanted forest" of sorts. Apples and pumpkins would work perfectly with your theme too. Just a thought!

That was my first choice of a date, but it wasn't available for us, so we decided on October 12, 2012. We are doing Chocolate brown and sage green, incorporating maybe some orange and yellow in the flowers. Congrats and I'm sure whatever you decide it will be beautiful.

Oct. 20 is my date, too! I'm having an outdoor wedding with a reception in a barn, so we're sticking with the rustic/fall theme. Bridesmaids are wearing red and we'll have accents of red, orange and yellow throughout the decor. I'm getting preserved autumn leaves from www.save-on-crafts.com and having centerpieces of small pumpkins and candles in Mason jars. My aunt suggested having candy apples as both place cards and favors (names and table numbers written on the stick). The apples could work with your theme, and I think red (to go with your heart theme) would be perfectly appropriate for fall. But really, you don't have to match your decor to the season. I'm sure whatever you do will be lovely and fit your personality. Good luck!

That is my date as well. We are using navy blue with rust orange accents for colors and using white birch trees and fall leaves as theme. Good luck deciding!

I am getting married October 20! I have been collecting "fall-ish" themed ideas on my pinterest. I love orange, brown and gold colors.
Also, with the fairytale theme, I found a card holder that is super cute.
I think it's even more awesome because her carriage was a pumpkin (fall-y) before it transformed.

10/20/12 is the date as well here!!! I am having a hard time finding what colors to use. My finace and I both love the fall and we are using it in our theme. However, the colors I had set out to use are far from the colors that I am working with currently. I NEED HELP!!!!!! Originally I had seen the girls in richly colored Peacock dresses, that went by the wayside when we found the current dress which I love but the version of peacock was not very desireable (think 1980's teal prom dress). Anyway, we decided on my second color choice which was a deep eggplant purple BUT the detail in the bodice is a black lace overlay. This is where my problem lies...I can't bring my inital vision together with this dress. I love the dress don't get me wrong, I am just having a hard time thinking of colors to bring into this theme. I already have planned brightly colored fall flowers for the arrangements, and DO NOT want to have a Halloween feel. I have tried to use the Knot color tool but can't seem to really wrap my brain around what I want. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!!!

I know this is a little late, but i am a 10/20 bride and we are doing a rustic, vintage themed wedding. Everything is creams, tans, blush pinks and grey. We are also incorporating a lot of candles, and using old books for the centerpieces.

I'm a 10/20/12 bride too.
I have not started really planning past booking the venue and buying my dress.
I think we are doing teals, purples, peacock color/theme without being to much of a "theme"
I think you should be able to do whatever you want. The venue is what sealed it for me.

Well i am also a 10-20-12 Bride and we are doing a mideval themed wedding with our cerimony at a park and the reception at a forest preserve. We have asked all our guest to come in mideval clothing (you know kings queens and princess and prince stuff ) our colors are red, white, black, but our flowers are going to be fall flowers and lots of leaves. my flower girl is throwing leaves instead of flowers down the aisle. My dress is red and white and look really mideval. our thank you notes and our RSVPs are on this fairytell paper that we found at Micheals. We are working on what kind of cake to have either cupcakes or a big cake. but we have our cake topper. A Castle since that is where we really wanted to get married but there isnt any that will let us in our area. I hope you have good luck figuring out what you want to do.

My wedding is Oct. 20th and we also got engaged at Disney World! He proposed in front of the castle during the fireworks show while we were at Mickey's not so scary Halloween party- Guess it's a small world after all :)
