I think you'd need to balance them when using both. Pick one to be the dominant shade for certain things. Like if you do a blue cake, have the accents be green. You could have the BM dresses be blue and have them carry a simple white flower, like daisies, with some greenery. You can also use muted versions of the same shade for things like the programs or invites.

Overall, my biggest piece of advice would be not to go crazy. You don't want to have a ton of things in both colors, since, like you said they are both bold. Pick a few key items to be both, bright colors and then have everything else be one or the other with a hint of the coordinating color. Also throw in some neutrals, like white for sure and then maybe either black, brown, or grey, depending on your venue, tux/suit colors, etc.

Thanks so much for the advice!! Luckily I have until April 2013 to work it all out, so it gives me a decent amount of time to play around with ideas :)

What about an aqua blue dress for your BMs with a neon green sash and shoes. I think that would look good!

I used these colors for my first wedding and LOVED it! I had aqua and white brides maids dresses and the girls were carrying lime green cymbidium orchid bouquets. I wore ivory and carried a bouquet of hot pink ranuculus. Green orchids on the tables and green dots on the cake. It was beautiful.
