My fiance and I are planning our wedding for May 2013. We want it to be clear that our theme is Beauty and the Beast without it being too over-the-top. This ist he perfect theme for us, we think, because when we talk about his past, he always talks about how I tamed him, like Belle tamed the Beast. Nothing is set in stone yet, of course, but we've tossed around a few ideas. We want to incorproate the most important aspects of the movie into the ceremony and reception in creative ways. To begin with, for centerpieces, we're thinking candelabras (During Belle and the Beast's first romantic dinner, their centerpiece was a simple candelabra.) or a single red rose in a glass dome over a round mirror; perhaps we will use both ideas - one on the head table and the other on the guests' tables. If we can afford it, we'd like to rent a chandelier to hang over the dance floor. The reception site we're looking at is a castle set on a golf course a few miles from the church. It's got a grand ball room with a balcony, similar to the one in the movie. Our colors are still up in the air - imagine that! Before we decided on the Beauty and the Beast theme, we were planning to go with lilac and silver. I still like those colors, but because of the importance of the red rose, we have to include red in some way. At first I wasn't too sure about combining purple and red, but red and lilac roses look wonderful together, accented by some white flowers, perhaps lilies, for my bouquet. As far as bridesmaids' dresses and favors, we've got very few ideas to work with as of now. Any ideas?

Well, I was just thinking of your accessories and jewelry. Belle herself seems to be wearing gold accents in her hair and golden jewelry. At least, she wears what I think could be easily reflected in you wearing gold hued pearl studs as your earrings and then up the ante by adding a spray of gold and white pearls around your neck. A helix braid of pearls around your wrist in a braclet would pull it all together.

I think your theme is adorable, by the way.

Thank you! :) That's a beautiful idea, but my band is white gold, which is why we decided to go with silver tones instead of gold. But I do like the pearl bracelet idea! Laughing

FIrst  off, I have to say I really hope you can stress to your guests that the Beauty and the Beast theme is because of the "taming the beast" part, and can make sure your guests don't think of the groom as a beast.

Second, I LOVE your ideas for decorations! I really think you can do some awesome work with this idea.

Lastly, Alfred Angelo has designed some amazing dresses inspired by the Disney Princesses. And the Belle dress is GORGEOUS! You may want to check it out!

I'm getting married 11-13 and our theme is based loosely on Beauty and the Beast for the same reason. For the Centerpieces, I bought books at the dollar stoor, took the jackets off of them and painted them Krylon "Leather Brown" and they look like leather books. I even painted the gold foil on the edges. I'm stack ing two in the middle of the table and then putting a "chip" cup (white tea looking cup) on top of them with a flower in the middle. We're using Hydgrangas, but you could use roses if you want to. On our sweetheart table, we have a tea pot that shaped like Mrs. Potts stacked on 3 books and the flowers for that match my bridal flowers.

Hope this helps!!!

we are also having a b&tB wedding in dec =) im a dieheart fan. (its kinda sad lol)
i bought these
http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disney-limited-edition-beauty-beast-lifesize-enchanted-collectibles-11987/
im using them at the guest book table with a life size cut out of b&tb behind the table. this way they know before goin in to the hall that IT IS in deed a b&tB wedding.

i had an idea for invites since i wasnt feeling the disney ones at all. i used a pic of me and my finace with b&tb dolls
u have to see them to understand what im talking up. but i will say my invites are like no other =)

centerpieces im using glass domes with a enchated rose that lights up. it looks way nicer with out the mirror on buttom it looks more clean and classy.

im using white and gold as my colors the only red in the wedding are for the red roses. which are used to a min so they stand out.

some center pieces will be candelabras it looks classy and works for lighting as well.

bridesmaids dresses are gold (heavy girls arent fond of them so if ur girls are mouthy pick wisely)

for our first dance of course its b&tb (he proposed to that song as well) i also bought a snow machine to suprise everyone. after all belle and the beast played in the snow too.

for dinner hours we are playing disney songs. nothing to over the top just right. (disney does have classy songs not all are lil kidish)

i bout the lenox "my heart is urs" and "my hand is ours" to use as cake toppers.

i designed my own cake. 6 tiers its one big castle. but it looks like a wedding cake. no crazy colors. simple and clean like a wedding cake should be.

remember there is a fine line between a wedding and a 5 yr old bday party. i seen online a b&tB wedding and laughed =(

our theme is tricky it could be nice and like no other u just have to plan it right. hope this helped.

I'm having a Beauty and the Beast themed reception as well and my date is
6-16-12.
I found a way to make it classy and elegant without having it be cheesy.
My colors are sapphire blue, regent purple, silver. (Obviously not really beauty and the beast colors but royal colors that give off an elegant look)
Every other table has a Silver candelabra that have 12in candles on them. Wraped around the candlelabras are purble orchids, which kind of dangle down.
Tables that do not have candlelabras have 3 vintage style looking books on them that have orchids drapped across them.
Each table has a sapphire blue tablecloth and regent purgle ribbons around every chair.
Every table is named for either a character or a place that is important in beauty and the beast.
For example: Enchanted Castle - sweetheart table for me and my FH
Silly girls - table for my bridesmaids
gaston's tavern - table for the groomsmen and their dates
and so on and so forth
To encorporate the Enchanted Mirror at the enter to the reception there is a large mirror that will be placed on an easel, written on the mirror in silver will be the names of the tables and a list of who is to sit at that table.
When the venue presents the meal, I've requested that they play Be our Guest (the broadway version not the movie version because it is longer and better fitted for a formal dining occasion)
The bridesmaid dress are sapphire blue with lace gloves
My dress is, of course, belle's style with my own unique flare to it:)
For my wedding cake I have a 4 tier cake that has a castle topper on top. Surrounding it are four small round that are topped with the various lenox characters from beauty and the beast. At the bottom of the 4 teir are the lenox figurines of belle and beast.
So like I said mine encorporates all the atomosphere of beauty and the beast without actually having the neon signs that it is one:)

I am having a beauty and the beast themed wedding in december and we wanted it to be classy and not cheesy. We decided to use the castle from the movie as the background for our invitations and then had the edges of the invitations deckled so that it would look like the "beast" had made them. I am wearing the Belle dress from Alfred Angelo and absolutely fell in love with it. It really made me feel like a princess. Our centerpieces are going to feature roses spiraling inside of a hurricane vase submerged in water and our first dance is "Tale as old as time."

These are great ideas ladies! Our theme is not Beauty & the Beast, but it was part of my proposal and is my fave Disney movie! Our escort cards will be placed on a board titled "Be Our Guest" and all of the table names will be different places in Disney World that my fiance and I have visited!

Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm getting married next May 2013 as well with an improvised Beauty and the Beast theme!  My original colors were a marine/navy blue and yellow, obviously because of their formalwear.  Other than that, we weren't planning on incorporating anything else Disney-related into the wedding.  I want to play the song, and I also found a cake topper that's beautiful, but expensive.  Also, I let my father choose the song we dance to together at the reception, and one of the songs he chose was from the Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast, Maurice and Belle singing to each other, because I used to watch that movie all the time when I was little.  I contemplated trying on that Belle dress by Alfred Angelo because it is beautiful, but decided a ball gown wasn't for me, and I went with a Water's gown.
All in all I think you still have a ton of time left to figure stuff out.  I think it would be cool to have a giant vintage mirror as your guests sign in on it, that way you can keep it and hang it somewhere in your house afterwards.  Also, you could put a single red rose on each table, (that would be discrete as well as cheaper), with some candles.  I liked the book idea someone had said before, but even just getting some ancient looking books, maybe putting one or two on each table with the rose would look cute I think.  I'm not a fan of flashy things, or anything too over the top, but if you can have a castle with candleabras, go for it.  I'm very simplistic because that's my taste.  I hope you have fun planning either way!

We don't have a theme but we're thinking of having "Be Our Guest" playing while the food is being served.
