MY groom to be has some pretty bad tastes some times. But gotta love him, right? Well my silly little sister in law started talking about camo weddings. He fell in loved with the idea and since I won't let him do anything else because I love planning wedding and am kinda bossy, I let him have his way with one thing. He was so happy when I agreed to this.
I need help with ideas to not make this over the top and still elegant. The colors are going to be choclate brown. The grooms men will be wearing camo vests with silver ties and thats it.
Does anyone have any advise or help?

I saw pictures of a wedding where the grooms wore regular ties/vests during the ceremony, but when they disappeared for pictures after the ceremony, they changed into camo vests and ties for the reception. It was very cute and gave the guys a chance to "tone down" their fancy clothes. (I think camo can be OK if used in EXTREMELY small doses! haha I totally would have got the camo vests/ties for the reception had we gone with a formal wedding given that the entire Grooms side of the wedding party are all avid hunters. But, everything is pretty casual so we're not. (Although we are doing navy & orange so they're pretty satisfied that the ties are bright Orange! haha)

My groom is a huter and so are most of our friends. He too wanted CAMO in the wedding. I have it hinted in small doses through the wedding. The groomsman are in cholocate brown suits and cream vest & ties. My girls are in chocolate brown tea lenght dresses...I bought my bridesmaids camo heels. They are super cute....Made by Gianni Bini name of them are "Major". You can only find them at Dillards. I also did dark brown table clothes with natural burlap laped over and green napkins. We are having an outdoor wedding at an old horse stable. It's perfect for the place where we are having it. I didn't want the camo vest and/ties. This is a settle hint throughout with out being bold.

O man, thats a toughie. My fiance and I both hunt but I told him there would absolutely be no camo in the wedding, even if we are having our reception in a barn. I think doing chocolate brown for your bridesmaids will help tone it down, maybe contrast with a pale green bouquet. I think I agree that just the mens vests should have camo in it so it still has a little personality without making it feel "redneck". In the words of Jeff Foxworthy, "I are one" (a redneck that is) but I need to bring a little class to the one of the biggest days of my life.

I do find greeneyes' description to be quite tasteful, I like the idea of camo heels!

I am also having a camo wedding. I don't find it bad taste at all though. It truely is what we love so we are going for it. Camo weddings can be done with class. We are doing black with accents of camo and a slight touch of hot pink (the bouquets). Our wedding is very informal as we are not the dressy up type but I will still have a beautiful white wedding dress. My fiance will be wearing a black shirt with accents of camo on it. My MOH is wearing a camo dress with a small pink ribbon on it and brown boots. My flowergirl dress is camo on top and white tulle on the bottom and a hot pink ribbon up the corset back. We are using a wild plant centerpieces in a deer antler vase with deer antler candles on both sides. I also made our camo invitations with a camo border and black and two deers with a heart. I am having so much fun planning with this theme. Oh and I did also find camo paperplates, cups, and napkins.

Will have hot pink flowers though not orange.

Our camo invitations

Only ours will only have 2 or 3 tiers not 4

It will have pink ribbon not orange though. The other ribbon is camo :)

Its quite funnny that i found this board, my fiance just said to me last night that the only way he will go through with planning the wedding is if he gets to wear a camo tux, and he will not budge about it! Im trying to convince him into just camo vests, i can work with that,..but i cant do much with a whole camo suit! lol. I feel like i should let him do it since he wont be invloved in much of anything else with the wedding..but i just am not a big fan of the idea!

My friend had a camo wedding too. She got her bridesmaid dresses from a website called Camo Diva. You could try them. She went with all camo dresses for the bridesmaids, camo vests for the groomsmen and her dress was mostly white with camo accents. It sounded wierd at first, but was beautiful in the end. I say if you really want camo, then do it and have fun.

Glad I found this post. I graduated from college about 4 months ago and am still looking for work, but my goal is to have the wedding by the summer of 2013. Anyways, I originally thought of having 2 different shades of blue for wedding colors. Im not sure if anyone watched Teen mom 2 but at the finale Leah had a slightly camo wedding and thought it didnt look hideous or anything. Since my fiance is such a big sportsmen I thought about maybe blue and green now. Im just not sure where you would find a camo tie or maybe vest? I still want everything to look nice. Just looking for just minor camo details. Tell me if this would be weird?!,,,,Not sure how many people will be in bridal party, but have for example have 2 guys (and groom) wear camo (probably the hunters of the bunch.,and the other two guys wear just blue ties or whatever. For the girls maybe 2 girls wear blue dresses and other 2 in green dresses.. to match guys colors but no camo. What do you think? Thanks :)

I am so glad I found this post! My fiance and I are both avid hunters, but like ashlidie said- I prefer to bring a little class to the most important day of my life. My fiance, on the other hand, thinks our entire wedding should be camo- I would be wearing a camouflage wedding gown if it were up to him. I want to give him some choices and this is one of the few details he actually cares about. I've talked him into just camo vests with a few small camo accents here and there (my garter, for example). I convinced him to go with a nature-type theme rather than a hunting theme- I think its a bit more classy. We will have manzanita trees for centerpieces, and other nice touches that are very 'us'- since we are such an outdoorsy couple. My big dilemma is choosing colors. I am thinking black for bridemaids' dresses. I originally had my heart set on beautiful shades of purple- he says camo matches EVERYTHING but umm, camo + purple does not equal a pretty wedding in my eyes. Any suggestions for colors? I'd really love to do something bright and pretty, to counteract the manly camouflage haha. Its a September wedding. Thanks!

There are so many ways to add camo to your wedding and still have it be elegant and traditional. You could wear your traditional gown and just add a camo edged veil or a camo garter. The girls could have traditional dresses with a camo sash to go with the guys in their vests. I've even designed a line of gowns that are totally traditional with laces, beading, embroidery etc and only "A TOUCH of CAMO"...hence the name of our business. Camo comes in many patterns now and in beautiful bridal weight satin as well...so there's really nothing 'redneck' about it anymore!

I too am incorporating camo into our wedding. ALL the whole wedding party loves the idea. The men are wearing mossy oak vests and ties. But the wedding is in May. Does anyone have any ideas on how to put a spring twist into the wedding? I just started planning and could really use some ideas.

I like everyone here am glad I found this thread. My Fiance and I are having a camo wedding 4-20-2013. I have no idea where to start. We have picked our venue. I have found a couple websites that are just camo wedding related. So, I think I have found the dress I want. I am just having trouble deciding if I want to do Camo, pink & green. Or Camo, orange & green. I am also having trouble finding thigns for the reception, the wedding party and a few other things. I never knew planning a wedding could be so hard. I am also doing camo in my wedding. My girls will wear brown dresses and carry orange flowers. We are getting married in Nov. My fiancee will wear a camo vest and we aren't sure if we will have the other groomsmen wear camo or orange vests. I'm also getting camo heels, camo garter, camo trim on my veil and using camo ribbon around the bouquets. For my reception decorations I'm going with rustic decor. We are making the centerpieces out of logs where we will cut holes to place tea lights in. We are having a small cake and other desserts including camo cupcakes that we will place on a cupcake stand we are making out of wood also.

Also need help with this topic! I am having a camo wedding as well. My groom and his guys will all wear camo vests with black tuxes. I am a completely girly girl so I HAVE to have pink in the wedding. I am wearing an traditional ivory/white wedding gown. Rather than hot pink, a light pink will be worn on my bridesmaids and on the ties of the guys. Any other ideas on how to tie this camo wedding together? What kind of flowers to use maybe? I am getting married in Sept of this year; my fiance and I have decided that we are going to incorapate the mossy theme in our wedding in subtle ways.. the guys are wearing black suites and camo vest, the ladies are wearing sage and brown tea lenght dresses and wearing brown cow girl boots.. We are not doing a red neck wedding, just a rustic country theme.. We also have found mossy oak invites, which are actually pretty classy looking.. I am buying my moh and bm their boots, the least I can do since they have to buy a dress..

We are planning a Big Redneck Wedding for July 4th 2015 this is both our 2nd wedding and neither of us want anything formal or tradional.We want something fun and completely us! my wedding dress is pink camo the groom in white camo and the rest of the wedding party is wearing full camo. i refuse to get stressed over this wedding and our main concern is having a good time. good luck on ur wedding and if anyone knows a good mud bog in the ft worth area please let me know!:

We too are doing camo themes. I had no idea where to start before reading all of the above posts. Our theme is "The Princess and the Redneck" since I am as girly girl as they come. We are doing brown bridesmaid dresses and my wedding dress is light pink since we are already married. We planned to get married in the courthouse and have a big wedding the summer after. It has been 3 years and we finally set a date for August 2, 2014. He is an avid hunter and in the military so this fits us so well. The groom and our 2 year old son will be in white camo and I have not fully decided if I will have a reception dress but if I do it will be pink camo. My 7 month old daughter will be flower girl so she will be in pink camo and the groomsmen will be in camo tuxes as they are all avid hunters as well. I am so glad I looked here because you girls have great ideas! Those of you getting married soon, please posts pictures so we can see how great everything turned out! Good luck!
