We have decided to hold our wedding in late April of 2013 - it was initially set for mid December of this year, but winter in Kansas City is HIGHLY unpredictable, so we moved it back some. Our initial color scheme was red, black and white. I was still going to stick with that theme, but 1. I dont know if that would be appropriate for a spring wedding, and 2. I just found a beautiful ivory wedding dress I fell in love with and purchased, and dont know how it would contrast with those colors. The fiance wont waver from using red in the color scheme, but im trying to think of some other colors to balance it out. Any suggestions??! Please, any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

First, have you tried the color combinations available here?

I think that will start you off with a lot of great ideas!
Personally, I love the idea of pairing red with one or two more pastel/muted colors to keep a springtime vibe.
I've seen red with pistaschio green and cream work wonderfully for spring. I also like pale yellows with red.

I agreee with pp. You say the dress you love is ivory.... ivory, red, light pink/coral, and a dark green could even all go together. There should be no problem matching red with other muted colors, especially in the spring. Another way to find complimenting color schemes is to pay attention to eyeshadow combinations. if you are looking for a theme that can incorporate reds in spring, may I suggest a Cherry blossom theme? there are so many things out there that involve oriental/ cherry blossom spring type weddings. I, myself, am doing a cherry blossom theme this April, but when searching online there are so many cherry blossom products out there that are red. just an idea. But i think that most of them are paired with gold? I would say just look it up the knot had an article one day about that theme so you may even find it on here.

My wedding is in 4 weeks and our colors are B&W with red accents. My dress isn't bright white (although it's not quite ivory).
