Haunted Venue?
If you're planning a wedding between March and May, here's the place to chat with other spring brides.
The venue my fiancé and I both like is haunted.   We saw it this weekend and took photos and when we got home there were little white orbs in the photos.   They are not reflections.

The venue my fiancé and I both like is haunted.  We saw it this weekend and took photos and when we got home there were little white orbs in the photos.  They are not reflections.  The lady giving the tour says people see things all the time but nothing “evil or mean.”  It was a speakeasy in the 30’s and some people were killed there.  We wanted something unique and I really wanted something with strong ties and history to the city I’m from.   It really is a cool place and its right in our budget.  We aren’t looking to have a gothic wedding or anything; it will be in spring ’13.  I’m just not sure it’s good luck.  I mean would guests be too freaked out?   I want people to like the place but I do not want the focus to be the ghosts or whatever they are.  Should I keep looking or get holy water?

I'm sure your guests won't freak out and if they do it would probably be something to laugh about. I felt the same way about a ceremony spot we looked at and I didn't let it affect my decision. If you like it then I'd say go for it... It wouldn't be a bad omen. Don't let it be a deal breaker. Besides, you and your fiance could laugh about it some day.

It isn't necessarily bad luck. As someone who has been in some haunted places locally  - I can tell you that you need to follow your insincts. You will be able to feel if the presence''s are hostile or friendly. Go to the venue if possible alone or with just your fiancee. Go and stand where you think you want the ceremony to take place. Close your eyes, relax, keep an open mind and ask the spirits of the place if you may get married there. Notice how you feel, what vibes do you get. That will tell you. You could also either that day or your wedding day leave some flowers, a glass of liquor...some sort of offering to them as a sign of peace. The only other thing I can think of is if you know of a psychic, shaman, etc type person to consult they may have some information/ideas.

Toni,
I don't mean to be rude just give my opinion on this. I personally would be uncomfortable. In the venue as a guest. Is it one room or more a multi room place where guests would walk around. If it was one room as a guest I'd be OK because we'd all be together. Maybe I am just being scared for no reason but it would definitely take some of the focus off your day for me.

Who says that you even need to mention that it is haunted?  Or is it a very well known venue?  I say keep the haunted thing as your little secret.
