I LOVE navy blue and when I got engaged I knew it was the color I wanted to use...but now that we have set our date (May 14, 2011) I am worried that it is not appropriate for a spring wedding. I am wanting to use it as my main color and then accent it with either red or yellow...any suggestions or comments???

Navy Blue is an awesome color! To lighten it up a bit you can also add 2 more colors to incorporate a sping theme

i think Navy is AWESOME. My wedding is May 12, 2012 and Our colors are Navy, and Cream. So I think it will be great!

Ours is April 15th, and ours are going to be royal blue and a lime green. My fiance liked navy blue but it was a little to dark for me. Even royal blue was a little dark so we are going to lighten it up with the bright green.
I was MO on a friends in June of 2008 and her colors were a dark blue and ivory so it will work.

Sure is...and I would use tangerine as the third color! Have the girls wear navy dresses with silver bead jewelry and their bouquets orange for the entire nautical effect...everyone usually has red with a nautical theme--this would be different. The guys can wear navy tuxes with tangerine ties and the groom can wear navy tux with white tie.

I was going to use that color combo (can't you tell) for my spring wedding (April) but I couldn't convince my fiance of the color scheme.

I am getting married the same day as you, and I am using navy blue as an accent to my purple and green wedding :) I think navy blue is an awesome color, and it will be a big part of my weddng cake too.

I am also getting married on May 14, 2011 and I chose Marine for my main color. Its like Navy. I love it and I think it is fine for a May wedding. You have to go with what you like. Nothing is traditional anymore. My friend is getting married in July and chose deep purple. No matter what color you go with I'm sure it will be beautiful.

I'm getting married May 21, and navy is my second color along with cornflower blue and accents of silver. I don't really think your color scheme should be dependent on season. You should just go with colors you like, and it will work no matter what because it's your wedding and it's what you want.

I am getting married 5.27 using Navy Blue and Fuschia! I think Navy is a great color to us in the spring wedding as long as you pair it with bright accent colors!

navy is a great color! :) and i agree with PP nothing is traditional anymore. Ive seen lime green and bright oranges used in winter weddings and black used in summer weddings. It's your day :)

For those of you who used or plan to use navy blue for yoru bridesmaids dresses, what color tuxes will you do? I am afraid to put navy dresses with black suits, but I don;t know if I am being silly about that.

I have been wondering the same thing! We are getting married 4/21/12, and I am planning on navy, with fushia and yellow accent colors. I have seen some pics of navy vest/ ties with black suits, but I am still not sure...

I completely agree that there is no need to go with seasonal colors. I had navy and kelly green for my April 30th wedding and it was beautiful.
