My fiance an I are getting married March 25, 2012 and I have been racking my brain on our wedding colors. I really want like a butter yellow because it is my favorite color and in Italian it is good luck to have yellow as one of your wedding colors but I can't think of a good color to pair it with. I do not want purple. I was thinking either light pink or light bule but I am not sure how to pair those combos. Does anyone have any sugesstions or even other color combos that don't have yellow. My theme is a garden theme. My bouqet is going to be all white and have crystal butterfiles placed in it. So if anyone could help that would be amazing! Thanks!

My cousin had butter yellow and paired with a medium gray- it was classic and beautiful. She had bridesmaids in gray dresses with yellow flowers, and incorporated lemons in vases- it was really springy and fun. I think you could incorporate blue or green into it easily as an accent color.

I personally am doing orange and gray as my wedding colors (my wedding is in a month)- its is definitely not as "springy" as yellow, but that drew us to it, being a little different. I'm having my bridesmaids in gray dresses (gray is our accent color) but they are wearing orange sashes with their dresses and carrying orange tulips. My flower girl is in orange & we have lots of orange decor.

For me, I like having the gray as a neutral with the black suits and my white dress, so the orange pops. I think if you did just yellow along with the white and black that is already predominant in any wedding, it would be beautiful. So would adding another color. You have to choose what feels most like you and your fiance. We were doing light green for a while, but it just didn't feel right- the right color combo should give you peace of mind.

Thanks! I think we are going to go with yellow and like a cream. I am just not sure what color flowers I would do. I know my bouqet is going to be white so i want theirs a different color but I am just not sure what color to use for their bouqets, but thank you for your help! : ) Good luck at your wedding! Ditto to StitchingChica. Yellow and gray are sooo beautiful together. I'm actually using purple (like a grayish lavender), gray and yellow. My bridemaids will have yellow tulip bouquets with either gray dresses or the pale purple. I know some brides are scared of gray but I'm totally in love with the color at the moment and it really works with many color palettes. Good luck choosing!

Yellow & a light green would even be nice for a garden theme. There are tons of plants/flowers that are yellow and/or green. Cream would work nicely too since peonies, rununculus, and daisies come in those colors.

Take a look at http://www.afloral.com for more flower ideas. It would be a great place to look for inspiration for your bouquet. !! Just make sure a flower you like will be in season for you wedding. Otherwise, you'll pay a pretty penny !!

In my opinon if you do that yellow with another light color. If you would like to do pink or blue do a darker bolder blue or yellow.

IMO, although Gray is a pretty color, I just don't see it as a spring color. but as other posters have said it is something different.

How about....
Yellow and Powder Blue with Pink or Light Green Accent
or
Yellow and Pistachio Green with Pink as Accent Color
or
Yellow and Pink with Pistachio Green (light green) as Accent

I have seen some boquets on the internet that were Cream Cabbage Roses with Pink Tips....gorgeous

getting married in April 2012 and totally undecided about colors. I like the canary yellow for dresses with blue and green accent.

Or David's Bridal has a "malibu" color that I was thinking about for the girls dresses and accent with yellow and green.

Not sure if the bright blue is too much. The wedding is at a country club, which has a dark sage green and chocolate atmosphere

I don't know when your wedding is exactly but for spring you can really play with the colors in different shades of your wedding colors like the yellow and pair it with pinks and purples =)

I got married this past May and got many compliments on how springy my wedding looked! I had a light lemon and a light lime as my colors. I used the colors in the flowers and table runners and used fresh lemons and limes in the centerpieces as well as layered on the cake! It was gorgeous!

I am in the same boat! I am getting married may 2012 and have been picking my brain about this too. We are using navy blue and khaki as our main colors but I am unsure about the accent. I keep going back and forth with pinks, greens and other blues. Such a hard decision! My flowers will be peonies and I know they only come in so many colors so I am trying to base it around that! Any suggestions?
