Sorry for it being so long! Tried to shorten it as much as I could.

First off, my colors are Pink, Orange and Yellow. My Fiance and I are getting married in my hometown in August 2011. One day a childhood friend told me she was getting married in 2012, using teal and brown. A week later she told me they moved the wedding to June 2011, and that same day I got her Save the Date in the mail, and she had changed her colors to the EXACT same combination as mine.

The problem is that we are both getting married in the same town and alot of the same people are going to both. Her one bridesmaid is wearing the same color pink as mine, and to top if off she is planning on wearing the same pair of boots under her dress that I have picked out for mine.

Since my wedding is second I am worried people are going to think that I copied her, or used the same colors on purpose. Am I over thinking it and being paranoid, or should I consider changing my colors?? Everyone I have talked to says to leave it as it is and do what I want , its MY wedding, but there are SO many similarities I am afraid of what other people will think! Unforutnatly I have to be certain by tonight because 2 of my BM are ordering their dresses tonight!

You are being paranoid. I promise you, it won't be the end of the world if you and your friend use the same colors. All that should matter is that you are marrying the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.

I wouldn't worry about it- take it as a compliment! :)

Even though you guys have the same colors and there are some elements that will be the same, you are injecting your personality and flair into your wedding, so it will be totally different then hers!

Don't worry. Your wedding will be beautiful, and no one will think you copied your friend. My sister used pink and yellow and some orange in her wedding last August. It's a great combination!

It will be different enough from the other wedding. I know a few couples who got married over the last month and two of them used blue and yellow as their colour scheme.... but they were completely different. The flowers were different, the decorations were different, the dresses were different.. there was just a completely different feel to each wedding.

Hope you can be at peace with whatever you decide :)
