I am leaning towards teal and white for my wedding colors bc my fiance and I both love teal and of course we want to incorporte July 4th into our night but we dont want to plaster red white and blue everywhere. I don't want red and blue to be our colors...so any ideas on how I can tastefully incorporate the theme without going crazy?

My ideas so far:
-fireworks will already be shot off from the bridge overlooking our venue
-We want to have sparklers to use on the outdoor patio & maybe a matchook with our names on it for them?
-thinking blue mason jar centerpieces with white flowers?
-My biggest think im thinking about is if my bridesmaids wear teal dresses & carry white flowers & I am wearing a white dress...will a red bouquet for me look to red white & blue? Should I just stick with white flowers for me too?

Any ideas or suggestions would be great!

I have seen it many times before that the bridesmaids had white flowers, and the bride had white flowers.  I have also seen a very very pale pink, almost a nude color in a bouquet and it was enough contrast for the flowers to stand out off your dress, but still was close enough to white that everything still went well together.  But at the same time, if you want red flowers, so be it.  They are classic, and in my opinion, i don't think you can go wrong with a red bouquet.

The sparklers and the matchbook sound like a cute idea.  Just make sure that this is allowed at your venue, assuming you are renting one and it isn't on your land.

The white flowers in the blue mason jars would look adorable!  I'm a biggie for jars of all kinds, and it will tie in the holiday without being over the top.  Maybe tie a red ribbon around the neck of the jar?

my daughter got married last 4th of July. Her color was tiffany blue & white. The girls wore blue, She had pops of red, like the girls shoes, small center pieces w/red carnations, the cake was white w/tiny blue dots and a red initial on the 2nd tier. All was beautiful and didn't feel red white & blue at all. As mother of the bride i wore a red dress to kind of go with the theme. I had fun with the candy table, mostly blue & white, but they love swedish fish, so I got them also.

I am getting married on the fourth of July. My wedding is going to be maroon and dark green. And the reception is going to be red white and blue. I don't want to go crazy with the patriotic theme, but I am a horrible decorator and worried this is not going to turn out right. Can someone please help me.

hmm I've never heard of having different colors for the ceremony and the reception but I also only got engaged in late November and am in the beginning of my 2013 wedding planning. I think you typically pick wedding colors and incorporate those colors throughout the whole wedding but it's your day & you can do anything you want to do, so anything you have in mind & that you want is perfect for your day!

My wedding is July 5, 2013. I also wanted to do a spin on the classic red, white, and blue and landed on navy, raspberry, and ivory with silver accents. . It's softer than the traditional and still ties in nicely with the holiday.

ditto walkers, though mine's not til the 13th. we're doing aqua and cranberry and then to avoid being TOTALLY gung ho Americana we're adding touches of green. it's still going to be a pretty Americana theme though :) i think that having it on the 4th, people are going to expect some red white and blue stuff going on, so I like your idea of toning it down by sticking to teal and white. are you having the reception somewhere where you can see the fireworks?

edit: durr, you said that already. I think the fireworks will be totally awesome and the rest of the special July 4thy stuff sounds like just the perfect amount, and i love the idea you have for the flowers! i was going to have my BMs in blue with white roses and then have red roses for myself too :)
