I know it's technically still summer.  But people associate Sept with fall.  I'm just wondering if I have a Sept 1 wedding (wich is actually Labor Day weekend) is it ok to stick with the fall theme I've always wanted (my first picks for dates are unavailable, the venue is very popular and its pretty much the venue I've been dreaming of). Or do you think I should stick with summery flowers and ideas?

I'm trying to get neutral opinions.  I'm already an undecisive bride and am having problems envisioning this new date.

I'm having the same problem, my wedding is also the first weekend of September.  I don't know what to do either but I did talk to the guy in charge of the venue and he said all the leaves are still green and the weather will likely be warm, so I feel like I should be having a summer theme.  I'll check back to see what the final vote is.

i voted to compromise (haha only cause I'm just as undecisive)  When I think early September I am still in summer mode but begin to think fall apples (But it stops there).

I'm not really into the fall foliage and pumpkins and fall colors until October and Nov.  In fact, I do not really teach my kindergarteners about Fall until the end of September/Early October cause the leaves haven't changed yet.

I am of the party to keep summer going as long as possible (one of the many reasons DH and I moved from Connecticut to Florida). If you look at the calendar it's still considered summer until mid-late September and none of the leaves have started changing yet and it's usually still pretty warm and summery out, but the nights may be a little chillier. To me it doesn't start to feel like fall until late September and more into October. That's when the air is more crisp, the leaves start changing, and people are raking leaves and going to pumpkin patches and on hayrides, etc..

However, it's your wedding and whatever colors you pick shouldn't have to do with the season or what it feels like outside. Pick the colors you want and go from there.

I always think of September as fall, personally, but that doesn't mean you can't do "summery" colors.

I'm in the same boat too...I really want a summer wedding and our colors are bright blue and orange.  I really want an outdoor wedding but where I live it is very hot and humid in July so I was thinking of going to late August to early September but am not sure if I should compromise and get married inside in the summer or move it back to cooler weather and get married outside...keep me updated witht he results

My wedding is September 2nd.... I am doing blush color tones for a vintage feel. I always think of the beginning of September as still summer but you should do whatever you want. It is your day!
