I posted this on attire and accessories as well, but thought this would be a good space. I searched and didn't see anything specific to this question. I'm looking for suggestions on designers that make jackets or sweaters (or places to shop) that would look good with a strapless wedding gown (as in keep my arms and back warm, but not cover up the front)? I don't want a bolero style or a cape or wrap or anything that's cropped real short or made of fur. I've looked on etsy and haven't found anything that I love. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

I am not much help with designers---

You could try making your own or finding a  wrap/pashmina that you could tie however you wished to show parts of the dress yet keep arms/shoulders warm? I have seen pics of knotties who got the wrap and tied it around her shoulders then behind her back so she was warm but you could see the dress.  Or you could get a cape that has multiple clasping options, so you could button it all the way up for transport between venues, or just clasp it at the neck and toss behind you for pics? You don't have to have fur- you can do velvet, brocade, lined satin, just about anything. Make it satin on the outside and line the inside with fleece or jersey. Do you know anyone handy with a sewing machine? Ask them if they would consider making something to your liking as a gift.

Wish I could be more help :/

It sounds to me like you're really looking for a shrug since you don't want a wrap/cape/bolero... Those were easier to find in stores (Express, Limited) a while ago, but now, not so much.  Do you know anyone that knits?  Interweave Knits put out a special section on shrug patterns a few years ago... google "Interweave Knits", and you should be able to find their site... I believe they're free patterns... if nothing else, it might give you a few ideas.  Or, on etsy, try Emily Rohm.  I just bought my veil from her, and she does beautiful work with lace.  She does custom pieces, and since you're so far out from your date yet, you could probably get a really awesome collaboration going!

Best of luck!
