(I also posted this on the Ohio-Northeast board)
When I was planning my wedding I found
the vendor reviews to be extremely helpful. Better late than never, here
is a list of the vendors I used, along with A LOT of photos from our
wedding.
Wedding Planner: Piece of Cake Event Coordinating (http://www.pieceofcakeeventcoordinating.com/) (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Piece-of-Cake-Event-Coordinating/151080894915043)
Ashley
was a dream to work with. I couldn’t imagine not having her during the
planning process and on the day of the wedding. My husband and I were
engaged for two years before getting married, Ashley was there every
step of the way, answering emails right away, joining us in client
meetings and helping us make critical decisions that made our special
day run smooth. Having her there on the day of the wedding was amazing,
the little things that no one thinks about she handled. I didn’t have to
worry about anything because I knew Ashley had everything under
control. She was simply amazing. I’ve already recommended her to some of
my friends that will be getting married next year. We are so grateful
and appreciate everything Ashley did for us. I cannot thank her enough.
Ceremony/Reception Venue: Brookside Farms (http://www.morethanjustafarm.com/)
The
venue is gorgeous! You can really transform the barn to be anything you
want, which is great because it can meet the needs of anyone. We rented
the farm house so my girls and I could get ready in and they also offer
a bridal suite that is located under the barn, which is where the
groomsmen hung out. Since we had our ceremony and reception here we
didn’t have to travel anywhere for pictures, there were a ton of
different places for our wedding photos. The cost does add up since you
have to bring in your own caterer but we felt it was completely worth it
for the amazing setting. I had a great experience with them the only
thing I noticed is that it helps to write everything down. Since
they are somewhat of a newer venue they are constantly updating the
barn, which is great, but it also means certain things get added to the
price or the price goes up between the conversations you have with them.
We didn’t have to worry about that so much because they honored the
price that they had originally told us. I would definitely recommend
this venue, call early, they book super fast! This image has been resized to fit in the page. Click to enlarge.

Ceremony Officiant: Catherine Daniels from Ohio Wedding Lady (http://www.ohioweddinglady.com/)
I
cannot express how amazing it was to have Rev. Catherine Daniels
officiate our ceremony. It was absolutely beautiful. Almost every
single one of our guests came up to us and told us how great the
ceremony was. She created a custom ceremony for us, she sent us
different sample of weddings she had done in the past and we were able
to pick what we wanted and add our own unique touches. I highly
recommend Rev. Catherine Daniels to anyone looking for an officiant.
Wedding Dress/Veil/Bridesmaid Dresses: The Dress Boutique in Medina (http://www.thedressbridalboutique.com/) (https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Dress-Bridal-Boutique/112856455412120)
If
you have not bought a wedding dress yet or picked out bridesmaids
dresses, call The Dress Boutique and make an appointment now. I went to a
lot of bridal stores, and none compare to The Dress. Sara and her team
have created such a friendly and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel
comfortable and very relaxed while shopping for your dream dress. The
one on one attention you get from your consultant is so special and
priceless, you really get that “say yes to dress” TV experience. I had
gone to the store multiple times because I started shopping early, never
once did I feel rushed or pushed to purchase a dress. Every time I came
in they were always super welcoming, almost as if we were all old
friends. All brides deserve the same experience I had, so I highly
recommending making an appointment and checking them out. This image has been resized to fit in the page. Click to enlarge.

Photographer: Suzuran Photography (http://suzuranphotography.com/)
Suzanne
and Dan from Suzuran Photography are extremely talented photographers,
they are able to capture moments you didn’t even realize are happening.
They have such a lovely way of shooting, when you look at their photos
you feel like you stepped into that moment. We were very excited to have
them capture our wedding day, which I think they completely exceed our
expectations. I highly recommend them for anyone that is looking for
beautiful photographs of their wedding.

Florist: The Budding Tree (http://www.thebuddingtree.com/) (https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Budding-Tree/341157239096)
Erin
from The Budding Tree did such an amazing job, I met with her a couple
of times and showed her photos of my inspiration and she completely got
my vision. Everything was so pretty and exactly what I wanted. She was
really able to take everything I had been telling her for almost 2 years
and create it on our wedding day. She transformed the barn from country
to a romantic English garden. She completely blew me away with her
talent.

Caterer: Robert J Events (
http://www.robertjevents.com/) (
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Robert-J-Events-Catering/60200874269)
We
went to a couple of different tasting and the food and service at
Robert J Event were on a completely different level. Bob was very
professional to work with, he puts a lot of pride into his work. He was
very helpful with our food choices and gave us some excellent tips on
how to make sure the night ran smoothly. This is not your typical
wedding food, everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing.
Everyone loved the food and they made sure to tell us about how they
went back for seconds. The wedding packages they offer are very
inclusive (china, linens, napkins, flatware, glasses, etc.), unlike
other places that add on charges. We also used Robert J for bar back
service and bartenders. We were allowed to supply our own alcohol and
Robert J supplied all the mixers, juices and garnishes. The bartenders
were extremely friendly to all of our guests. I would highly recommend
Robert J Events for any catering and bartending need.
Cake: Bittersweet’s Chocolate and Pastry (https://www.facebook.com/bittersweetschocolate) (http://www.weddingsbybittersweets.com/)
Gwen
and Todd from Bittersweet were great! We had a tasting at a couple of
different places but Bittersweet won. The tasting presentation alone was
enough for us to book them, but then when we tasted all the different
types of cake and frosting, there was no competition, they were the
best. We had them make 6 cakes in total. 1 three tier cake and five 8
inch round cakes. Each cake had a different designed and a different
flavor. Todd understood our vision and made it a reality.

Chandeliers and Draping rental: Personal Touch Event Décor (Doug Albright – 330.453.3311) (https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Personal-Touch/221242634674718)
I
rented chandeliers and draping to cover the back the windows of the
barn and the entry way. Doug was really great to work with, you can call
him and visit their warehouse to see all of the products they have to
rent, which… is A LOT. I thought his prices were very affordable and
they deliver/set everything up for a flat rate which is good too.

Table runners and charger: Reasonable Party Rentals (https://www.facebook.com/ReasonablePartyRental)
The
women who owns the company is named Renee, she was very sweet to talk
to over the phone and very accommodating. She didn’t have the color of
runner (silver organza) I was looking for so she order a sample so I
could see it in person, when I went to see it she had a mock table set
up with the runner and chargers I wanted, it was great seeing it instead
of having to image how it would look like. The best part… her prices
are unbeatable!

Ceremony Music: Arion String Ensembles – Rachel Hutch (http://www.arionensembles.com/)
Rachel
was great to work with, she was quick to respond to my email and was
very helpful with picking out music. We went with Rachel as a soloist,
which sounded fantastic during the ceremony. They have a string duo,
trio and quartet, I would recommend checking them out.
DJ: A Bride’s DJ – Marcus (http://www.abridesdj.com/)
We
decided to go with A Bride’s DJ after meeting with a couple of
different DJ companies. Diana matched us up with Marcus, which we got to
talk to and he completely understood where we were coming from and how
we wanted our reception to be like. He made us feel completely
comfortable and we trusted him to make it a great night. Marcus was
amazing the day of wedding, he kept the dancing floor packed all night
and was able to read the crowd. We had a mix of salsa, hip hop and indie
dance music, he was able to make everything melt together and sound
just right. This image has been resized to fit in the page. Click to enlarge. This image has been resized to fit in the page. Click to enlarge. This image has been resized to fit in the page. Click to enlarge.
Calligraphy: Seaworthi Design
(http://www.etsy.com/shop/seaworthi)
Farin
is not the typical calligrapher, she has more of a modern and fun
handwritten type style. She was really great and easy to work with, we showed her a couple of different styles we
liked and she was able to recreate them and make them unique for us. I
would highly recommend checking out her etsy shop and contacting her for
any handwritten needs. This image has been resized to fit in the page. Click to enlarge. This image has been resized to fit in the page. Click to enlarge.
Invitation Design/ Paper Details:
Just
want to brag a little because my husband designed our save the date and
invitations as well as all the other paper and signage detail on the
day of our wedding. I think they turned out awesome, not bias or
anything This image has been resized to fit in the page. Click to enlarge.
Invitation Envelopes: Hollo’s Papercraft in Brunswick (http://hollospapercraft.net/)
They
have a great selection of envelopes. A ton of different colors and
sizes, they even have different types of metallic and shimmer
paper/envelopes
Paper: French Paper (http://www.frenchpaper.com/)
Reasonably
priced if you are planning on printing from home and the regular
shipping is pretty fast. We ordered the smart white paper in 130lb
Printer: Cat Print online (www.catprint.com)
We
printed our thank you cards with cat print and they did an amazing job.
My one friend used them to print her wedding invitations and they came
out fantastic. They do really great quality work.
Custom stamp: Lush Prints (http://www.lushprints.co/)
My
husband designed our own stamp and Lush Print made it. They also have a
ton of designs to choose from. They were really great to work with, I
had to call them because I had a question about our order and after two
rings someone picked up, very friend and it felt very comfortable.
I hope this is helpful for any future brides, if you have any questions just let me know.
