Help! New to the area...looking for a dress.

Hi all!

We are moving to the Raleigh area in January from Charlotte.  I'm sure this questions has been asked and answered a million times, however, I didn't see it while quickly browsing through the board.

Any recommendations for a bridal shop, budget up to $3000?  I am definitely not a fan of David's/similar places and am looking for not only the "right" gown but also a great customer experience as I will have my bridal party, mom and grandmother with me while shopping.

Thanks in advance!

  • Just wanted to try again - we will be moving to Raleigh in January and I am unfamiliar with the area.  Wanted to see if any local brides had any recommendations/really positive experiences with a particular bridal shop?

  • You could try Maggi Bridal. It's a smaller/boutique type of shop that books appointments about a month in advance. I loved my experience there with Nicole, but actually found my dress elsewhere.

    Good luck in your search!
  • I went to Carolina Bridal in Smithield. They had a huge selection with major designers. I loved the experience Ihad with Abby and se actually picked the dress I bought. My dress and veil were total $1400.

Congratulations on your engagement! If you are still looking for a few bridal store recommendations in Raleigh, I have a few ideas. Maggie Bridal and Carolina Bridal are great as already suggested. Traditions by Anna has amazing gown selections and their prices start at $2000. Victorian Rose Bridal gowns start at around $1,000 and go up from there. There is also a Bridal Show Expo on April 6th with awesome gowns, accessories and decor. I hope this helps! Good luck!

     Happy Planning!

  • I realize that this is an old post but just wanted to point out two things: 1. I had terrible service at Traditions by Anna and 2. Victorian Rose Bridal has had some frightening reviews! See Yelp. Also http://www.wral.com/at-raleigh-bridal-shop-dress-comes-with-stress/12973703/

For your price range, I'd recommend Lana Addison in Cary. I got my dress from their sister store, Alexia's, but I started at Lana Addison. Both stores have excellent service and Michael, one of the owners, really knows his stuff. After picking out several dresses with Michael at Lana Addison, I went over to Alexia's for a later appointment to find that he had called ahead and found my dream dress! It was the only thing I tried on there and it was the one!
