Historic Venue Indiana

I'm looking for a historic venue around Indianapolis (or outside). I like older architecture. And I would like to find an inexpensive place.

Re: Historic Venue Indiana

  • We have chosen the Rathskeller in the Athenaeum building downtown. It's one of the more reasonable venues we found. We're using the biergarten outside but they have indoor ballrooms as well. I'm pretty sure you can rent the ballrooms in the Indiana Historical Society downtown which would be a nice location because it's also along the canal. I know you can get married in the capitol building as well which would be GORGEOUS!! I don't know about the prices for either of those places though. There are plenty of old houses around town but I don't know if you can have weddings there (Benjamin Harrison Presidential site, the Morris-Butler House, the Propylaeum). Hopefully that helps a little!
