Centerpiece height..how high??

My center pieces will be a lantern and a small cube vase on either side with flowers (very small flower display, the main centerpiece is the lantern

Is 13 too high to see over?

    The rule of thumb that I have been told is to put your elbow on a table and hold your forearm up vertical.  That is the highest that a low centerpiece should be without causing issues with blocking your guests faces.

    I think 13 inch lanterns would be fine but 8 inches would probably be better.

    thanks!  i'm hoping I can go with the 13 inch, because the 8 inch only fits a tea light candle.  I did the arm test and 13 inches passed.
