Budget photographer?

Does anyone have any recommendations for budget-friendly photographers? We're doing our wedding on a shoestring and are hoping to find someone for under $800, preferably less. We have a few leads for friends-of-friends who are into photography but I'd like someone with wedding experience. There are tons on Craig's List in our price range but I'm a little bit nervous to use them. Ideally, we would get photos in a CD or online but we're flexible.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Jolie Images is in your price range. I did not use them, but I know other brides have. Maybe search the Chicago board for Jolie Images to find their reviews?

Snapknot is a good resource to find photographers to fit a specific budget. They let you search by price point and have a few options that would fit yours.

I'd stay away from George Street. totally hit or miss with more misses than hits--not worth it on such an important day. You may have a smaller budget but you can do better than them.

My sister used George Street for her wedding 5 years ago and loved them. When she recommended them to friends, the friends had an awful experience. Avoiding them!

I've heard of Jolie but don't know anything about them. I'll research further.

I've already signed up for SnapKnot but haven't gotten anything from it yet. Fingers crosses!

The ones I have found so far are Ryan Nguyen (http://ryanhnguyen.com/), Price-less-pix (http://www.price-less-pix.com/), and Stephanie SeRine (http://www.stephanieserine.com/). All are under $800 and include a good amount of time and a disc with reprint rights.

We actually found someone we liked using Thumbtack.com. We're huge fans at the moment- we've found our DJ, photographer, and, more recently, plumbers for an emergency project on the site. It's worth checking out!
