Hi all! I'm a newly engaged graduating medical student about to start my career as an OB/GYN this summer. I was curious about changing my name as an MD. I've heard that it's incredibly difficult/tedious to jump through the hoops to get your name changed on a medical license. Keep in mind that I do not currently have my license, but will have it before I get married at the end of next year. I was hoping to get some opinions about this matter. I was thinking about just changing my name before the wedding and before I get my license to circumvent any potential issues/prevent confusion with my patients. I've tried Googling whether this is possible and can't find any straight answers. Is changing your name before the actual wedding possible? Any opinions on the idea? Are there any MDs on here who can offer some advice? Thanks!
