Play music during common cup ceremony?

in Wedding Vows & Ceremony Discussions
Just wondering if you think it is necessary to play a little music during this part of the ceremony? It won't take very long and we will never have our back to the guests. Plan is that my fiance drinks for the cup, then hands it to me, then I hand it to the Maid of Honor then the Best Man finishes the glass. I see it taking five minutes max.

    If you are having any musician(s) for the rest of your ceremony, I'd ask them to softly play an instrumental version of another hymn / song you're using in the ceremony.  If they're a comfortable and well-versed musician, they could even improvise something simple while this ceremony happens.  Ask them!  I'm sure they'd be happy to work out something with you.

    Are you actually taking Communion? A hymn would be appropriate during communion.
