July 2014 Weddings

What do you have left to do??

So I finally wrote a list of stuff I could think of off the top of my head that I still need to do for the weddding.  The list on paper is WAY longer than it seemed in my head...ekkkkkkkkk!

What do you still have to do??  Are you almost done??  Am I way behind??

LOL!

Re: What do you have left to do??

  • -Transportation
    -Book rehearsal and rehearsal dinner
    -Book hotel rooms
    -Order and send invitations
    -Print pictures for guestbook/scrapbook
    -Make favors and OOT bags
-Cake tasting (cake is included in our catering so we don't have to worry about anything other than just choosing the cake)
-Ordering wedding bands (doing that in 2 weeks)

I think that's it? TK's To Do list has, like, 30 things left on there that I haven't done, but none of them are really all that major to me.
    ~*~*~*~*~

  • We still have to:

    line up transportation
mail invites (they are being printed this week)
get stuff for OOT guest bags (we at least have the bags already)
pick make up artist (first trial this weekend)
pick songs for the "big" things at reception and for ceremony
    gifts for BM and GM
    get wedding bands
get items for simple DIY centerpieces (just votives and small vases with baby's breath)

I think that's about it--some I can't do until we get the RSVPs, so it's kind of a nice "lull" period here for me right now...until the chaos starts in earnest once we know who all is coming!
  • - Pay final payments (About half of the total cost is remaining)
    - Meet with Officiant
    - Meet with DJ
    - Menu Tasting (Scheduled for May)
    - Order Cake (We know where and they dont require much notice)
    - Get wedding bands
    - Schedule Hair/Makeup Trial 2-3 weeks before wedding
    - Pay for my grandparents accommodations
    - Fill Welcome Bags (We have all the stuff)
    - Get Fiance scheduled for Tux alterations (we already bought the tux)
    - Order Guestbook from Shutterfly (waiting on some pics)
  • Let's see, still on the to-do list includes:

    - wedding bands
    - find officiant
(this is the only one making me a bit nervous, but since pretty much anyone perform a marriage in MT, we may just end up asking a friend/family member)
    - choose/mail invitations
(...ok, now that I've written that, I'll add it to my "kinda need to hurry up" list, too)
    - misc. decor
    - buy plane tickets
(FI is adamant about not buying them "too early" as he's decided b/w 62 - 45 days yields the cheapest ticket)
    - pick music for ceremony
    - orders goodies for the welcome bags
    - attire for everyone but me
(bunch of procrastinators, I tell ya ;)

  • I've done pretty well and have a lot of things done.
What I can think of that I have left:
    - book musician for ceremony
    - plan rehearsal dinner
    - mail invites next week
    - get parent gifts

I'm more than likely forgetting something.

Did your FI see the study showing that range being the "best" time to buy airfare for the lowest rates?  We have a few people waiting for that mark...but I'm a big chicken and was too afraid to wait, so we just booked.  Once I hear what others paid (if it's cheaper than our flight)...I will have a brief moment of yelling at myself...but oh well.  Live and ya learn :-)

Everyone sounds on track....I think I'm just freaking because it really is ALMOST HERE!!!  AHHHHHHHHHHH...haha!!

Yes! I'm so with you on that. I'd MUCH prefer to buy now and eat the 20 bucks extra than wait in anxiety for the "cheapest" price. He's killing me with this one!

  • This is what we still need to do:

    -dress fittings

    -final payments

    -marriage license

    -seating chart

    -gifts for gm

    -write vows

    -hair and make-up trials

-send in "must have" list to photographer

I keep having this nagging feeling that I am missing so much more on the to-do list but when I go through it all over and over with my mom, I'm not. Lol

  • We took care of our wedding bands and cake today. TK still says I have 26 things left to do. Oy.
    ~*~*~*~*~

  • So far...

Favors, gifts, placecards, dress fitting and essentials, counseling/legal stuff, final meeting with cake/venue, and sending the invitations!
  • My big day is July 19th, and I still have quite the list as well!

    • Order & mail invites (just requested a second sample yesterday after some design changes)
    • Finalize our ceremony readings
    • Complete paperwork for the church & have final meeting with priest (we're getting married in the Catholic Church)
    • Meet with wedding coordinator from the church
    • Parents gifts
    • Groom needs to order GM gifts
    • FMIL & FFIL need to book the rehearsal dinner
    • Dress fittings (my first one is in two days!)
    • FI & GM tuxes
    • Finalize DJ's playlist & entrance songs
    • Welcome bags
    • Favors/escort cards (I know they are combined as a cake pop escort card & my MOH's bakery is doing the cake pops, but I need to make the cards)
    • Bridal portraits
    • Hair & Makeup trials
    • seating chart
    • marriage license
    • guest book
My list seems pretty intense but we had a bit of a pause on wedding planning when my FI's grandfather had a heart attack about a month ago. He's doing much better now so we are hitting the ground running!
