Ceremony decor

Our ceremony space is outdoors, in a courtyard/large walkway type area between two venues. There is a lot of greenery and beautiful stone architecture. We will have overhead bistro lighting as well. We ordered two floral arrangements for the altar. That being said - if neither FI or I care much about any more decor for the space, is it really necessary? We haven't planned on aisle decor, anything on the chairs, an aisle runner, etc. Nothing. We just feel it's a little silly to spend any more money on a space that will occupied for a maximum of 30 minutes. What are your thoughts? Have you attended a wedding with minimal ceremony decor and thought it stood out, in a bad way? Do we do something simple like DIY ribbon decor for chairs? Any advice appreciated!

I don't think aisle decor is necessary, based on your description, but DIY ribbons would be fine.

Your plan sounds fine. We did even less for our outdoor wedding: no decorations at all. They just aren't necessary.

We're also getting married outdoors, in between two beautiful flower gardens with a gorgeous mountain view. We're actually not doing any decor at all. The grounds and the view IMO are enough.

Same here. But wee are having our reception and ceremony at the same place. For both, I'm going with minimal decorations. It's outside on a deck with a veranda by a lake. And it will be in October, so the leaves will be changing. I think if the space is beautiful, and it sounds like yours is, add some lighting and call it a day. Spend your money elsewhere.
