Don't have to ask me twice to share pics of my ring...

I have a round moissanite which I adore. I wear it every day and rarely take it off. I bang it into stuff all the time by accident, but the stone is supposed to be almost as hard as a diamond, and I haven't had any issues with it yet. I love how sparkly it is, and though I never thought about having a round stone,  I love it more than all of the other cuts now.

I know I'm going to sound BSC but I love looking at rings. V and I won't be engaged for awhile but I still peek at rings every now and then. I'm in love with this one atm.

@buttercup1958 I don't think you're BSC for looking at rings. I still look at rings all the time and I have one that I'm head over heels in love with! I love looking at rings.

@eilis1228‌ I'll definitely keep that in mind. A friend of mine is a jeweler, I should run some questions by her.

severmilli12 Thanks! It's a lot more fun than reading my geology textbooks, even though I should most likely do that instead. Oh well!

    @southernpeach89

I love the style of your ring. It is timeless and gorgeous. The last time my BF brought up ring styles I told him I wanted something with a paved band. Do your diamonds go all the way around on the band?
  • Options
@justbeingme93 -Thank you! The diamonds stop where my fingers touch so they don't go all the way around.

@southernpeach89 , I think that is what I am leaning towards. I don't want to have to worry about losing diamonds on the bottom part. If you don't mind me asking, how many carats is your center diamond?
  • Options
@justbeingme93 -The center stone is a little over 1 CT and the rest of the diamonds around the band equal .08 I think?

@southernpeach89 I never saw your wedding band it's really pretty! My CW has the same type of design as you, but has two of the pave bands instead. I love that style though!

@buddysmom80‌ that's beautiful! I love twisty ones. I'm sure there's an actual term for that, but I like "twisty" haha

    Here's mine!

The center stone was from my mom's engagement ring. So... not exactly vintage but... kind of?

    As for specifics:
It's a platinum ring with pave diamonds that go halfway around. I'm definitely happy with that decision. A few people (ahem, jewelers who I did not end up using) were insistent that all the way around was just SO much better. I like not worrying about the bottom of the band, and I like that it was less expensive this way!

I believe the band width is about 1.8 mm. \

The center stone is a .92 diamond, held by 4 regular prongs and 2 v-prongs.

The lighting is kind of awful in the picture of the ring on my hand. It shows the dark bow tie area a lot more than it ever even comes close to in real life. But... that was from the day that FI proposed! So I love the picture.

    Pros:
I've knocked this ring around a bit and never had any issues. (it has survived multiple art show installations, moving, and painting with children)
    It's so PURTY
Marquise diamonds are definitely not in fashion any more, but I really like it. It feels a little special, a little old, and a lot feminine to me.

    Cons:
I have once or twice scratched myself or fiance with the points of the marquise. whoops. Didn't hurt or cause a mark though.

I think I'm going to get a thin plain platinum or palladium wedding band to go with it.

My ring has Mickey Mouse on it. We are huge Disney fans and I'm just not good at taking care of fine jewelry. It's not a cheap ring you find in the park, but it's not particularly expensive either. So far no one has said anything bad about it to my face. I like it and that's what matters!

The picture is from the website. I only have my phone with me and so far I haven't been able to get a good picture of it on my hand.

Yay ring porn! I really do love all of your rings. This was so fun to come home to after a loooooong evening of moving.

justbeingme93 - I have a pave band all the way around. I like it because if it twists, it doesn't matter. Here's a pic of my e-ring w/ my band, taken about three minutes after we got engaged.

    Re: eternity rings

I was interested in an eternity ring (where the diamonds go all the way around) for my wedding band, but the jeweler talked me out of it. He said they can't be resized, and since I'm still so young and haven't had kids yet, my ring size will undoubtedly change.

I'll play!  We haven't had a ring porn thread for a little bit.

Mine is a .92 cushion cut with a cushion shaped halo, white gold.  My side diamonds also only go half way around.  I was afraid of eternity bands because I can be rough.  My band didn't actually come with my ring, the designer didn't make one. I just happened to find this one and loved it, gap and all.

Well if we HAVE to share...

Mine is a .83 cushion cut with a halo in white gold. I didn't do a full eternity band (heard the stones on the back are easier to knock out, ring can't be resized, etc) and unless my ring is spinning around like crazy no one is going to see them!

I'm shocked at how many non-traditional rings I really like but you ladies with the traditional ones are gorgeous!

I'm not super picky so when the time comes I think I would love it because he picked it.

Mine is traditional, I had no idea before I came to this website how popular other stones were for engagement rings, I just always knew that I wanted a diamond because it was my birthstone, and I never owned one before and the first ring my FI bought me, which was a ring because he loved me ring, was a blue sapphire. I definitely have morganite on my list of anniversary rings!! (that's a thing, right??)

I can't remember the specifics of my ring, I think the diamond is 1.1 carat, I don't remember the carat weight on the side diamonds, but they are pave :) It has been 2 months and I still stare at it constantly.
