Good morning!!! 

I hope today is going better for everyone who was having a rough day yesterday

My bocce team lost last night which sucked BUT! I had my favorite burger on the planet for dinner at the Spotted Pig which is a nice consolation prize. 

Tonight I have to go to the orthopedic doctor about my ankle and then I have dinner plans with my BFF. It's restaurant week here ($35 for 3 courses at a really nice restaurant) and this is the menu I have to choose from:

Boss man emailed me back. So he said (vaguely) that there's a good amount of people taking buyouts and that they probably won't have to lay off many people. They would also consider transferring us before laying us off. So that's good news.

FI had a great interview yesterday and we're hoping for the best.

@Swazzle - I'd go with the salad or calamari & steak! But it seriously all looks SO good.

Can you all believe that it's August 1st tomorrow?? The summer is going by too quickly for me! I'm feeling GREAT this morning for a number of reasons:

1) We booked a DJ! I did a little bargaining, and got him to throw in a 50' TV screen where we can have a photo montage playing and he'll even add ceremony pictures to it on the day of. We now have all of the major wedding things figured out, and can focus on decor now!

2) FI heard from his old part-time job, and they need him to do some stuff for them again! This means anywhere from $300 to $1000 extra income every month, which will be AWESOME. 

3) I have soooo many fantastic things to look forward to over the next 2 months, including wedding dress shopping, visiting FI's family and going to a wedding upstate, seeing ALL my favorite friends, going to New Orleans, and taking engagement pictures!!

And last of all, I watched a food network show last night where they made this recipe, and I'm just dying to try it out. If I can convince FI to buy all of the ingredients, maybe I'll make it tonight:

@Hummingbird125 -YAY for booking the DJ and getting the extras! Such great news!

We won our softball game last night so we are going into the playoffs tied for 1st place but we don't get a first round by because the team that beat us had a larger score than when we beat them so they get the by. 

H went back to work today for school so Maddux will be home alone until lunch time when we let him out for his potty break. I'm praying like crazy that his crate is clean when we come home. He has been doing so well the last month of telling us he needs to use the bathroom. I hope he will get used to this new routine. 

I went to Bagel Boys this morning because we were out of my smoothie ingredients and I got a cinnamon crunch bagel with honey almond cream cheese. Very BAD but SOOO GOOD!

@hummingbird125 yay for booking a DJ! Also I can't believe you're going to make gnocchi. I made it once and I was like "NEVER AGAIN!"

Today I have one final meeting with my old boss. She loves to drive me crazy, so I can't wait to see what knowledge bombs she's going to drop on me...

Came home from work yesterday, FI was already home and made dinner. We ate in silence, I watched my TV shows in the bedroom and he watched his in the living room. At 8pm we watched BB in silence. I'm a little annoyed but I'm not ready to talk about things because I don't want to argue. I did call the employee assistance program here and they're going to get some names and numbers and call me back today for therapists. Hopefully there is one close by to me that we can see in the morning since FI doesn't have to be at work until 11:30. Or Saturday appointments. Either one will be fine.

Hopefully we can talk by the time we have our cake tasting on Saturday.

July has sucked except for Beyonce, Jay Z and @swazzle. This month can end now, thanks.

So I just realized that it's the last day of July and I have no idea where my summer went. My ticker is stressing me out a little bit. On the one hand I'm that much closer to being married to FI which is awesome but on the other hand I'm like TIME IS GOING WAY TOO FAST I DON'T LIKE THIS MAKE IT STOP. I guess FI and I need to get busy on our summer to-do list but it seems like neither of us has time right now. Anyway, I told myself I would get back on the eating/exercise wagon at the beginning of August, so today is my last day of eating whatever I want. My coworker just came in with bacon and it smells so good, I think I just might have to get go some.

@Buddysmom80 - Oh no, is it really hard to make? They made it look so easy! I mean, worst case is I can just snack on the cheese and bacon, right?

I'm sorry you guys are having some issues. Whenever FI and I are not on the same page, I stress about it and can never totally relax until the situation is fully resolved, and it sucks to have that hanging over you. I hope you guys are able to talk through everything soon, with or without outside help, so you can move on and get back to the happy stuff!

It's checkout day from the old apartment! And then we never ever ever have to go to that place ever again!! Right now the house looks like a very poorly organized storage unit, so we're going to start tackling that tonight while watching Sharknado and perhaps Sharknado 2. I didn't see Sharknado last year, and I'm starting to think I missed something highly amusing. I can't stand being out of the loop ...

I'm working late tonight; I have some stuff I need to do for my department to help prepare for accreditation. I think the organization rep comes through this fall (it's kind of a rolling process between visits, too, so it's easy to lose track), so it's really crunch time to get all the paperwork and reports in order.

And I'm on my last two runs for my grad research! Down to the bitter end, so there you have it. One more side project and I'm down to writing.

I am having an "off" morning.  not a bad morning, just kind of off.

the house is a mess and I need to clean it up tonight.  meh!

@Swazzle - I think I would go with the romaine salad, the free-range chicken, and ALL the dessert... as in, H wouldn't get any dessert because I would eat it all!  everything sounds just wonderful, though.  I don't think you could pick a bad choice!

I am so antsy to turn in my 2 weeks' notice, but I don't think my clearance will transfer until sometime next week, so I have to wait until then.

@swazzle- is the papardelle fresh pasta? If it's fresh I would go for that. We have restaurant week for 2 weeks around christmas time and during July. I never miss it. FI & I are "foodies". My latest Restaurant week food porn:

@hummingbird125- Yay for getting wedding vendors booked! I still need officiant and cake to get done...oh yeah and find a wedding dress!!! 

Yesterday I went dress shopping at David's by myself. It was horrible. I may just buy the dress I like there used from another bride or on the internet because I don't want to go back there! It was that bad. The day got slightly better when FI surprised me by coming home early (he usually works til 7ish) at 3 and said "get ready we're going to the sox game tonight". I knew that they have been blowing it hard core, especially this week against Toronto, but I always enjoy a fenway frank and some brews. We left at the top of the 8th and had a couple beers at cask n flagon. Perfect night cap.

I have no clue what I am doing today.

@southernpeach89 - Tied for first?! Way to go! I hope Maddux holds his poos and pees in today!!! Your breakfast sounds incredible and I'm jealous. 

@buddysmom80 - I love that I'm on the same level as Beyonce and Jay-Z. That makes me happy. I'm so sorry that you guys are still having a rough time. I hope things get better

Hi Ladies!!

I just made my dress fitting appointment, but I might see if I can already change it (because I just realize I made it for around that special time of the month where I might be a bloated beast).

I just want the weekend to be here, but I've got a busy weekend ahead of me - well a busy Saturday.



@Blackbird230 - that sounds good, hopefully that means you'll be good for at least the time being with your job.

@Hummingbird125 - Yay for things coming along.  Glad you got the DJ thing worked out.

@Buddysmom80 - Sorry you're going through a rough patch with FI.

@500days - The place is pretty fancy (@GoldenPenguin actually went to a wedding there) so I would guess yes. The creme brulee in your pics looks AMAZING! I'm going to the Yankees/Red Sox game Sunday night! It's my first time going to Fenway, I'm excited.

@CocoBellaF -I would be the one normally to go home on my lunch break to let him out but today I have  to run some errands with my mom so H will be able to go over there since the students aren't back to school yet. I'll probably do it tomorrow though.

@Swazzle -Yea, I can't believe we are tied for first place...I'm like extremely awful at softball but everyone else is really good on my team so I guess they just carried me along lol. Thank you for the poo and pee holding vibes lol.

Yum that all sounds super delicious! My bestie is in med school in NJ and she's back home for a few days so we're having dinner together tonight. Probably a sushi place, or maybe her parents will make dinner. They are from Greece so I LOOOOVE dinners at their house. Always a giant bowl of feta in front of me, and her 86 year old grandma makes the best home made Greek yogurt nomnomnom.

@humminbird125 Glad all the major wedding stuff is booked yay! Gnocci sounds so good right now, I love gnocci.

Today H is going to see an orthopedic about his knee I'm really hoping that there are no major problems and he doesn't need surgery.  He'll probably need an MRI first.  Otherwise I have nothing even remotely exciting going on but I'm feeling better that I'm getting back into a work out habit again.  Our photographer let us know yesterday all of our pictures and the cd's for the wedding are going out in today's mail.  I can't wait to see them all!  I have to schedule a CAT scan of my head my per allergist, to find out what is causing my allergies to be so bad. 

I kinda wish I had some more exciting things going on or to look forard to but it's just slow and boring right now.  I'd say my birthday coming up next weekend, but after awhile it's just not as exciting anymore, lol.  Hopefully September becomes more interesting.

@TwoDimes - Your venue/coordinator sounds incredible! That's so awesome! We had a lot of rooms booked at our hotel so we were able to get either a free room or $200 off the suite, which is what we went with

Goooooooooooood morning!

I initially thought today was Friday, and was sad when I was wrong!

Today I am exhausted. I'm covering for a coworker this week and yesterday was so draining and it felt about 40 hours long, I crashed almost as soon as I got home but still don't feel like I got enough sleep. I went to see FI last night and he was alright but still had a headache...and it's STILL there this morning too. I'm really confused by the meds that he's on and I want to go read all of the labels because I feel like he's supposed to be taking something more often than he is. But he's not in the hospital so that is an improvement!

My mom and I took my dress to be looked at last night and the woman said she can hem it and alter the neckline for me. She's also going to sew cups into it so I don't have to bother with a bra. She said to bring it back after Christmas and she'll get started on it.

Tonight I just want to sleep. I need to follow up on a few WR things and make sure FI and I are on track, and I SHOULD do some cleaning, but I think I'm just going to put everything off until Saturday and take it easy tonight. We have a long weekend coming up so I don't feel bad being lazy.

I totally do that, especially if it has feta and candied walnuts oh man!! Or I will order a sandwich based entirely on whether or not it comes with avocado.

@Swazzle - That all sounds super tasty! Toronto has a restaurant week in the winter and in the summer, but it's crazy and books up so fast

Today is off to a bad start - the fridge stopped working (only the freezer was the problem before) - so I had to salvage what I could and bring it to the basement fridge.

Don't you wish you had a fancy bi-level kitchen???? Yeah, me neither.  The first appliance repair appt I could get was 8/7, but at least I will be in Chicago for half that time - - sorry boys!

Of course this happened while I'm trying to convince SO to give up his apartment since being a homeowner is so great! LOL  We don't want to buy a new appliance set while roomie still lives here either because he uses cast iron...  So we may just move the basement fridge upstairs if the big one can't be repaired. 

Yesterday I had to call my venue because they still haven't cashed my deposit, but she said they have it don't worry, she is just really busy in the summers so she doesn't get to the bank often.

Today I have to get my car inspected, so hopefully there will at least be good news there!

So true!!  Having to walk down the stairs for my milk is not so bad in the scheme of things.
