What do you think about this dress?

I came across this dress and I think it's absolutely stunning. I'm having a garden ceremony with reception in an old colonial house turned wedding venue. I see this dress fitting very nice with the venue and with how I'd like to look/feel on my wedding day.

What do you think about this dress? How can I find more info or similar dresses in this style?

I think it's pretty.  It looks like a less expensive Jenny Packham.

It's beautiful.  If you go to Google and do an image search, it'll send you to more pictures like that dress...maybe you can find something that way.

I think the dress is beautiful, but it doesn't scream "garden" to me at all (not that I think it's highly important to match the dress to the venue, but just saying).

I love that dress! Gorgeous! If you go to a good bridal salon, you should be able to show them that photo and they'll find similar dresses for you. I went to three different salons when looking for my dress. Two of them didn't have a very big selection but the third one did, and the lady helping me was able to find several dresses that fit the style I was looking for. Good luck with your search!

I think the dress is beautiful - though I see more vintage glam that garden wedding when I look at it.

I think it's very pretty.  Unfortunately reverse Google Image search isn't doing anything for me on this one.  It does tell me that the original comes from an Etsy store that no longer exists.  Good luck finding something similar.  If I come across anything I'll be sure to let you know.

I am a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, so I know period dress.  There isn't anything that fits "colonial" about this one.  Something like this would be more compatible with your venue style.

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. I fell in love with the dress but there is no way I can afford it, or even a knock off lol. I'm not dress shopping yet, just some online window shopping for now. I've set a pretty low budget for my dress but after perusing through some websites I'm starting to realize I have to also lower my expectations. I guess I'm guilty of having champagne taste on a beer budget.

Both give you that sheath shape/look that the Jenny Packham dress has but at a much more realistic cost (especially the Davids dress).

@Maggie0829 I've set a preliminary budget of $1000 for all my attire- shoes, veil, dress, accessories, alterations. So the dress would have to cost $500-$700. According to my budget calculator, I can comfortably spend up to $1500 but I'd like to try to keep costs down where I can because I'm considering paying for the hotel stay of some family members. We're still trying to figure out if we can budget this in, but in the meantime it's still in the back of my mind.

I really liked the dresses you suggested. Especially the first one with the v-neck lace details. I think v-neck style dress would be most flattering on me. I'm a bit on the busty side but it just makes me look fat rather than curvy. V-necks seem to minimize cleavage and give me a leaner look.

Do you think my budget is realistic? I'm more than fine with non-designer dresses, off the rack, sale or clearance items.

I think your budget is definitely doable.  For accessories such as a veil or hairpieces and such take a look on ebay or etsy to find some nice items but at a much lower price then what you would find at a salon.

For jewelry give Charming Charlies a whirl.  I know many brides on here who have bought things through Charming Charlies and say that it is great and has some awesome prices (http://www.charmingcharlie.com/wedding.html).

As for alterations, you should look into local seamstresses (maybe ask your local board for suggestions) rather then go through say a bridal salon where the costs could be higher.

We also had a garden ceremony. I came in at $1075 CAD which included my dress, alterations, dry cleaning, shoes, and accessories (all I bought was a hair piece - I borrowed jewelry from my mom and MoH). I ordered my dress from J. Crew online (link) and had it altered, which may not be for everyone.

$500-$700 is definitely doable. Check out DB and AA, but also some local boutiques. You may be surprised at what you find. I bought my dress at a local boutique for $700. It reminded me of what I liked about Reem Acra dresses (which were way out of budget!.) I am also having garden/ brunch type of wedding.  Don't get down! Just don't let yourself try on the $5,000 dresses.
