NJ Bride, Portland Honeymoon?

Hey everyone. My fiance and I are getting married on December 17th, 2011 and we're just starting to look for honeymoon ideas. I love the idea of going to Portland...neither of us has been there before. What would you recommend doing in Portland in December? We both love beer, and I know there are a lot of breweries which is appealing. What about food? Attractions? Shopping? Outdoor activities?

Also, where do you recommend staying? I looked at the Vintage Plaza and it looks like its our style, but any thoughts or suggestions? Anywhere we definitely shouldn't go or stay?


Hopefully you will be able to help give me some ideas.

We stayed at The Nine's in the heart of Downtown Portland. LOVED LOVED LOVED the hotel There are lots of restaurants and things to do nearby!

December isn't the nicest time of year here - it's likely to be rainy and cold, possibly snow or ice - but it's not terrible.  Sadly, some of our best tourist attractions aren't very fun in the cold, rainy weather, but there's still plenty to do!

I wouldn't come in December either.  It's one of our worst months.  I'm going to be adding information about Portland to my website soon for our out of town guest.  I will let you know when I do so you can get some information from it.
