Thank yous

Most of our wedding gifts were cash/check.  I know it is customary to put how you plan to spend the money.  However, I feel like saying paying off all our debt just doesn't look too good.  We already own new cars and bought a house last year.  So we're literally using it to pay off debt! Any idea on how to politely word all that?

Vendor reviews to come (everyone was amazing). :)

Thanks!

Re: Thank yous

  • Hmm...

What about just saying "your generous gift will be a blessing as we start our life together"?  That shows gratitude without coming out and saying that it is helping you pay down debt.

  • I thanked them for the generous gift and said we would put it to good use in the future as we start our new life together. I did not go in to detail on what we would spend the money for the same reason you gave.
