Christmas list

My mom is already asking me for our Christmas list. ( I procrastinate )
Other than stainless and a vacuum we do not need anything.
Any suggestions?

Re: Christmas list

  • What about books or music?  These are my go-tos when family asks what I want, and I don't want to ask for anything expensive.  If you use digital music and/or have an e-reader, they won't even take up space.

  • Books, movies, gift cards, clothing (ie. there are some t-shirts out there I want and a L would probably fit me no problem), KitchenAid stand mixer, e-reader, gift card for music site/restaurant/spa/whatever you are into, new/fancier towels, new/fancier sheets, or other upgrades (ie. a chair that you have is a hand-me-down you can ask for one that would be more your style).

  • It is tradition in my family for parents to gift money at a special Christmas to pay off student loans. (Like if you have a baby on the way or something Idk). I like that gift a lot more than a butter dish :)

(I got 3 butter dishes for my wedding. -.-)

  • Why not ask for something experiential rather than material? E.g., concert tickets, a class or workshop, dinner at a fancy restaurant, a wine tasting, rock climbing lessons, etc.

  • If anyone asks, I'll probably direct them to the remnants of our registry. Otherwise my family gives really creative gifts, like a kit to grow your own mushrooms plus a mushroom cookbook.

  • Some random things off our registry that didn't get purchased-- a cordless drill and drill bits, a fire/waterproof safe for important documents, a new mail box, a folding 3 step stool. We would also be thrilled with experiences- restaurant gift cards, movie tickets, show tickets, massage and or mani/pedi gift certificates.

I choose to interpret this as meaning your family got you hallucinogens for Christmas one year. :P

  • Well aren't you all so lucky! There won't be any christmas lists this year for anyone as our wedding is coming right up after in January and most money for all guests (and us) will be spent travelling to destination. Sniff...but I can still make cookies!
