Opinion on a dress for a wedding (guest attire)

I'm going to a Saturday evening wedding in Vegas in November. I really like the satin one with the fancy stuff around the neck and I figured it's Vegas so I could be a little more bold than normal, but I'm second guessing myself. What dress do you think would be better?

I prefer the dress on the right.  The dress on the left looks a little club-ish and not something that I personally would wear to a wedding.

That's what I was thinking, but since it was Vegas I thought something a little flashy would be appropriate there. I've never been there though and I wasn't sure if that was just like a tv thing and normal people still dress normal there. LOL

The second one/right one is boring/a little bridesmaid-y.  The first one could be okay if you aren't really tall.  I think it comes down to how long it will be.  There's Rent the Runway in Vegas at the Cosmopolitan if you want to rent something fabulous and designer.

I'm only 5'4" so the dress is definitely longer on me than it is on the model in the picture.

I"m really weird about wearing clothes that other people have worn. I don't even borrow clothes from friends so renting is out of the question. I know that's weird, but I have issues.

If the dress on the right would be longer on you than in the picture, I would go for that!  I think it would be great for Vegas!

    I'm guessing she means left.

I'd go for the left. It's Vegas, you need a little sparkle! And it doesn't strike me as "clubby" at all. It's not form-fitting, no cleavage, won't be super short on you, perfectly acceptable.

I agree with @lolo883 . If it was both short and showed cleavage, I'd say no, but IMO if it is only one or the other, you're usually in the clear.

I went to a wedding in Vegas, in May. I wore a LBD that had gold sequin panels down both sides. It was very "vegas-y", but I also knew the bride very, very well, and I knew that the wedding was going to be very much a party atmosphere.

It's Vegas. Go for the left dress, girl.

I vote for the left one....I just don't like the one on the right personally!

Also agree, you can show the legs if you cover the girls and its not too night-club to me.

Well it looks like sparky wins! Yay!!!

I think it depends on the venue.  Plenty of people have their wedding in Vegas and get married at a country club.  I'm planning my wedding for Vegas, but everything will be in a casino and we plan to go out later in the night with whoever wants to after the official festivities are over.  It wouldn't bother me a bit if you showed up in the more fun dress.

For a Vegas wedding - definitely the dress on the left!
    :-) LOVE IT!

So I got both dresses because I will wear them somewhere eventually. The sparkly dress hits about 1/2" above my knee so it's definitely not too short. The wedding is in a room in a casino. They are going for more of a party feel.
