Formal names on escort cards?

Hey all, 

Just trying to organize my seating chart list thing.. wondering if names on the cards need to be formal?  Michael instead of Mike, etc.  Or should we go with what we call them?

This really depends on how formal of an affair your wedding is and whether or not these guests have a strong preference for one over the other. Also, if you go formal you will probably want to include tittles like Mr., Mrs, Ms. Dr., etc.

I don't think there's a "right" answer, but I agree with PP.  However, my wedding was not formal or fancy, nor did I want it to seem that way so I addressed the escort cards as I address the person - not their formal names (although I did address their invitations with formal names, as etiquette dictates)

I addressed my escort cards with their full names and I also used Mr., Mrs., Ms., etc.

Ah okay.  It's semi-formal but not black tie or anything, I think I'll just write their full names, but informally.  One of those small things that I hope nobody nitpicks haha.

I used the names that people put on their RSVPs. Our wedding was very formal so we omitted titles and used nicknames/alternate names if that is what the guest preferred.
