Hotel in San Francisco

We will be doing a cruise out of San Francisco for our honeymoon and want to stay over for 2 nights after cruise and sight see. What are some good hotels?

I live in the Bay Area and may be able to offer some suggestions. First, do you have a budget per night? SF can be very pricey.... Also, will you have a vehicle, or do you want to be near the wharf where your cruise will depart out of?

The Argonaut Hotel at Fisherman's Wharf is really nice. We've had our office Christmas party there a couple of times, and it is right in the touristy Fisherman's Wharf area.

There are lots of nice hotels in the Union Square area that offer a lot of shopping nearby, but it does tend to get really noisy at night.

San Francisco Marriott Marquis is also nice--try to get a room near the top floor to avoid a lot of the street noise.

I second Union Square! We stayed at Hotel Union Square, it was a great location, walking distance to everything. Lots of options for hotels.
