Salem area recommendations

I'm looking for recommendations on:
A DJ
A cake designer
A down- home, bbq-esque style of catering

I live up in Olympia, WA but will be having the wedding in Salem, OR where I grew up.  I would GREATLY appreciate any recommendations!  Smile

I am also getting married in Salem and am using:

Myriad Cake Design (http://www.myriadcakedesign.com/) She is really flexible and worked really well with our budget. Lots of really unique and delicious flavor combinations.

Our DJ is BMAC Productions (bmacproductions.com). He's actually out of Eugene but is traveling to Salem for a small fee. He came highly recommended by many of my friends that have used him in the past.  I was also in touch with Kevn from NW Mobile DJ and he came highly recommended but was slightly more expensive.

We're using Willaby's catering. I know they have some BBQ options but not sure if they are what you are looking for. Her food is absolutely delicious though.

    Good luck!

McKillip's Catering out of St. Paul has on site grilling and fair prices about  $13 - $18pp for under 200 guests, $2 less if over 200

Philyaws Cookout & Catering from Corvallis is Southern style BBQ

I've sampled from each and both were good but I liked McKillips better.

Baby Cakes Bakehouse - Bakes out of S Salem and is oh so yummy. Went to a mini cupcake feast in February and everything was wonderful. Unusual flavors in cupcake and (probably) regular cake form.

Myraid Cake Design - has a stall at the Saturday Market and sampled a lemon cake ball in dipped in white chocolate. It wasn't bad.

Queen of Tarts Bakery - Has a shop in the public library and a stall at Saturday Market. Everything I have had has been so very delicious. Sandwiches, soup, cinnamon rolls, tarts and cupcakes, it's all good :)

Our DJ is Doc his website... doctitus.com

He asked what our budget was and then did 10% of that. He is doing the ceremony and reception for this price! Its awesome! He's done parties for celebrities and corporations so we are so lucky to have gotten him on our low budget. He is bring a white sheet that will be lite up in the colors of our wedding for the reception room, which takes care of one whole HUGE wall!

I would HIGHLY recommend him! He's got a GREAT personality!
