I know, my to-do list keeps growing faster than I can check things off. I have this little notebook where I jot down whatever pops into my head that I need to do (like go buy extra stamps for the reply envelopes, random stuff like that) and it's 4 pages long :S

Y'all I have made no effort on the invitation front. I mean I looked at a lot, but after reading this thread, I went and looked at the calendar to figure out what date I should send them. Probably should've ordered them already. Whoopsy.

    What's your date?

I am finishing the design process THIS weekend. Must order by Monday. I SUCK.

Also haven't bought the booze, haven't had the tasting (although the menu is pretty much already set), and this is the worst of all: fi is dragging ass and doesn't have a suit or tux. Every checklist o have says that should be done 4-6 months ahead of time. Haven't ordered flowers or any extra decorations. Have only had brief chats with my uncle who's the officiant, but haven't actually planned the ceremony. Haven't sent any songs or desired photo lists to the DJ or photographer.....uuuggghhhhh...

@maeday2‌ it's May 16th. I may print my own, which would give me more time, but oh my goodness...I just don't even know. I'm freakin out, man.

Ugh I need to buy stamps.  And take an invitation to the post office to ask how much postage I need for them.  And make my FI get his shit together and give me the rest of the addresses so we can send the list to the calligrapher

@lurkergirl We are the same person. No suit yet. I really don't even think he's asked his BM yet.

Flowers are done. We have 12 pre-marital sessions to do still. Luckily our ceremony isn't capable of being edited so I don't have to think on that.

I JUST booked my DJ yesterday, but I haven't sent he or the photographer lists yet.

We had the tasting back in November. I'm always ahead of the curve on food. Buying booze will be the week of.

I didn't know the suit was supposed to be bought by now. Whoops! We were gonna go look at suits this weekend. FI is the greatest procrastinator in the history of the universe so I was actually surprised when he agreed to go.

Four pages long?! Can you send me a copy of your to-do list so I know what to do?

Me either!  FI stopped by Men's Wearhouse last weekend to check out tux prices, but that's it.  FI is a huge procrastinator.  I guess I need to get on him about that

lol there's a lot of DIY bullshit I started and now need to finish, so no worries. A lot of it wouldn't apply to you. Here's what I need to do that might apply to you though:

    • Check passport expiration dates for honeymoon (first, find passport)
    • Choose table runners (?)
    • Buy escort cards
    • buy thank-you cards for shower
    • design programs
    • have programs printed
    • choose guest book (?)
    • make list of vendors with contact info
    • order napkins
    • choose wine
    • send liquor deposit
    • number reply cards
    • assemble invites
    • mail invites
    • Pick out FI's suit (FI's job, I have to remind him)
    • shop for wedding bands
    • choose veil
    • Finalize liquor order
    • Plan details for rehearsal dinner (we're hosting)
    • Build Chuppah
    • Buy fabric for Chuppah
    • Order Ketubah
    • Order breaking glass
    • Schedule dress fitting
    • Check in with officiant
    • Plan ceremony/vow details
    • Choose groomsmen gifts (FI's job again, but I have to remind him)
    • Confirm pick-up time and location w/ guest transportation
    • Wrap gifts for wedding party
    • Make timeline and send to wedding party
    • Send rehearsal dinner invites
    • Put together "emergency kit" for BMs (hand lotion, bandaids, safety pins, etc)
    • Get marriage license
    • Confirm furniture delivery
    • Send list to photog and figure out first-look timeline (start time?)
    • Hire clean-up ppl
    • Meet with site manager
    • Send song list to DJ
    • Work on seating for reception
    • Work on escort cards
    • Research honeymoon (stuff to do)
    • Book honeymoon hotels
    • Confirm/send final payments
    • Assemble welcome bags
    • Finalize RSVP list
    • Send final count to caterer
    • Whatever the hell else I think of

@novella1186 - are there actual breaking glasses to buy?  Or are you just buying a glass?  FI and I were just going to go with the most breakable-looking glass we could find (and do a test run)

There are specific breaking glasses you can buy. I'm not sure if they're "safer" or just easier to break or what. I haven't looked into it yet. My mom told me about them.

Here's a link to some I just found on Amazon though.

Thanks!!  FI is for some reason totally worried he will stomp on it when the officiant's hand is still placing it and step on his hand haha.  I think that fear is thanks to Curb Your Enthusiasm

Just keep this in mind ladies. It perfectly describes what the wedding planning process was like for me.

@novella and @lurkergirl - I'm right between you guys. My to-do list keeps growing and I have felt no motivation lately. As I was falling asleep last night my brain thought it would be AWESOME to think about how long to the wedding in weeks. Needless to say my eyes snapped open and it took me a few minutes to settle down again. Fuckity fuck.

I'm a neurotic details person. I'm also putting mini emergency kits in the bathrooms with Altoids, bandaids, hand lotion, safety pins, Tide to-go pens, etc. This is why my fucking to-do list is so long. Neuroses and details and planning are a dangerous mix.

I am not too far behind you guys and looking at that check list is making me realize how behind I am on things too. I've been getting my butt in gear for some things but others I'm like meh.

I'm the same way. I'm totally on top of our invitations because of a fiasco with hotel blocks and having to switch things around just last week. But everything else.... meh. I'm trying. I keep looking over my to-do list again and again and trying to make myself pick out things to take care of but I haven't made much progress.

Oh mother fucked totally forgot about passports, and we both need new ones. His expired, and my dog fucking ate mine. How does that even happen in real life?!

I made these for my BMs too.  I actually found really cute, super cheap makeup bags from Forever 21, and I'm putting everything in there.  I know it's matchy, but it isn't their gift, and I actually think it's something they might re-use.

I also got the makeup bags for my flower girls, but those will mostly be filled with candy.  I just thought they would love getting a "grown up" gift like the BMs are
