TEXAS BRIDE HELP

Hi there! So, I'm getting married this May and have asked my brother to be the officiant (he is very outgoing and loves being the center of attention haha)! Anyway, I'm fairly certain that a regular person (someone not affiliated with a church) can become ordained online here in Texas, but I was wondering if anybody had any experience with this or knew what specific websites are legitimate? Any help is appreciated :)

    Hi,

You may want to have this post moved over to local Texas board; this is an international board.

Edited to add: I know people who have done this somewhat recently, but it's been a few years and the laws may have changed.

  • It would also be good to check local Texas state laws about online ordinations.
  • Whatever you find out from the internet, make sure you confirm it with the county clerk's office where you'll be married. Regulations can vary by county so you'll want to make sure.

  • your brother can officiate your wedding. just make sure he gets ordained online.
