Veil alternatives

When I went dress shopping, I tried on some different veils and I realized I look terrible in them. I've been cruising Etsy and Pinterest for different alternatives. I'm curious if anyone else wore something other than a veil, and if so, what. I'd love to see pictures!

I'm doing a flower halo. I haven't gotten married yet so I don't have pictures, but it'll be something along the lines of these:

It's a lot smaller than a veil or something like chibiyui's hat, so it depends on what you're thinking!

I wore a birdcage veil for the ceremony (built off a headband), but then just switched to a veil-less headband for the reception.  It had lace applique on it, and was really pretty.

I'm not sure what season you are getting married in but I'm getting married in October so I'm wearing a cape instead of a veil. It kind of serves 2 purposes, it'll keep me a little warmer outside on an October evening and I'm getting married at a castle so it kind of fits that theme as well. The outside is white and the inside is my bridesmaid color. I got my bridesmaids shorter matching ones so they will stay warm as well.

That's beautiful! I'm getting married in the wintertime and plan on keep a (faux) leather motorcycle jacket, a coat, or a scarf with me on hand if I get chilly, especially for outdoor photos, which our photographer mentioned.

Me too!! It's something I really want to do. I get chilly easily and my dress is short sleeved, so I'm sure I'll need it.

Do you ever use Rent the Runway? They have a million fancy leather jackets to rent. Of course, you'd have to be vigilant you didn't misplace it.

I bought this Gatsby-esque (I know, I know!) headband. It looked amazing with my updo (but I didn't wear it across my forehead, I wore it more like a normal headband).

I really want to do a mini hat with a small veil, but I can't decide between that, and  royal blue flower.

I was married on a beach so it was a bit casual, so I went with a modern take on the vail and put flowers in my hair on one side and some tiny sparkly hair pins on the other side, just in case the flowers wilted and I would still have some bling for the reception.

I loved the flowers and could have skipped the pins.  The flowers were given to me by the florist, so they matched my bouquet and theme.
