Guestbook & Card Box?!

Hello Girls,

I have been going back and forth on where to put my guestbook and card box.
I heard and seen many people place these items at their cocktail hour. Which I loved as a guest because everyone needs something to do at the cocktail hour (other then drink and stuff your face) and it allowed me to get rid of the card I was carrying around.

I was then going to move these items into the reception room about 5 minutes before the guest entered our ballroom. However, I am super nervous about moving the card box around sine it is so valuable .

Any suggestions

Ours was in a third space to the side, with the escort cards. The event coordinator moved the card box to the office for safekeeping at some point.

What?  How far would you be moving it?  All that will happen are two staff members will probably move the entire table that your guest book, card box and any boxed gifts are sitting on and then place it into your ballroom.  So unless your card box is a heirloom crystal box that is priceless I am not really sure what your concern is.  Just talk to your venue coordinator and I am sure he/she will be happy to take care of the move and keep an eye out on your card box.

I had my guest book in the vestibule at the church where I held the ceremony and then my mom took it over to the lobby area of the reception venue. We just had a basket set up in the lobby at the recetpion area for cards.

My guestbook (which was actually a painted canvas for people to sign) was on an aisle out in the area for the cocktail hour.  It stayed there the entire night. The card box/gift table was moved into the reception area near my table by the venue staff.

My guest book was individual booklets on each of the tables at the reception, because I wanted to feel like everyone had the leisure to write more than just their name without people standing behind them waiting. We didn't have them around for the ceremony.

I'd just have the card box in the reception room only. People will be able to hold on to their cards until they get to the ballroom.

Our guestbook was a print of a tree with leaves that we had on a table in the foyer of the reception hall.  Inside the hall and around the corner of the doors was our gift table, and the card box was on there.  I grabbed it later on in the evening and locked it behind the bar.
