Hello! I will be getting married at the Mon Bel Ami Chapel on 5-2-15 we will be having a cake and champagne reception after at the chapel but would like to go to a dinner with our close friends and family afterwards around 7pm. Mon Bel Ami is downtown and we are staying at the Golden Nugget. I have no idea where to start with restaurants. We would like something that will be affordable for everyone yet tasty and fun. We will be in wedding dress and suit but guests will be more casual, we are unsure how many people will be accompanying us so we'd prefer some place that doesn't need reservations. Any recommendations are welcome! Thank you!

Vic and Anthony's and Charthouse are both at GN and great, but they're chains so not sure how you feel about that.  The sushi place is small, and open (no private rooms), so I'd avoid that.

If you want casual but still good food and fun vibe, Hash House a Go Go at the Plaza down at the end of the street might be an option.

If you want something more formal for food and then more fun afterward, another option would be eat at any of those restaurants and then head to Insert Coins down the street a few blocks.  It's an arcade bar with all the classic video games through to today's modern stuff, dj, etc.

Thank you! We are looking at both those at the Golden Nugget and I will have to search Hash House as this is the first time I am hearing of it. The Insert Coin sounds super fun so I will definitely look into that as well.

What is your budget? Per person? I too am a Downtown Bride. :)

We do not have a budget per person as the dinner afterwards will be "dutch". Many of our friends and family are using this as a vacation as well so not everyone will be joining us afterwards because they have separate plans.

We are having our dinner at the Golden Nugget Buffet.  We are paying for our guest, so, that just worked best for our tiny budget.  We have been to Hash House, the food is good, but, the portions are super big.  I have not been, but, I hear the Triple George Grill near the Downtown Grand is good as well as Hugo's Cellar which is in the 4 Queens.

I'm not a fan of Hugo's because it isn't fully removed from the smokiness of the casino, and you're walking through the smoky casino to get to it, which I'm okay with if I'm gambling and drinking, but really makes me angry if I'm in a suit and it gets all stinky.
