red velvet decor

Hi, I am going to do red velvet cupcakes for my cake; with cream cheese frosting. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to make them look a little less plain. Since it is a bit harder to make cream cheese frosting look nice, than it would with say buttercream or fondant. I don't want to color the frosting either. I don't know if sprinkles look weird with red velvet or are too simple for a wedding. TIA

I don't like the pearls, they can be too hard sometimes. But I like the idea of the wraps, that would be a good was to add the colors to them; thanks!

The wraps are great to liven the look up - Kitchen Crafts is where I found some neat ones otherwise depending on how many you need Wilton had some bolder colored ones...

Cream cheese icing can look just as elegant as regular buttercream if it's made right...
