Song for Mother and Son dance

Hello, I have asked my mother what song she would like to dance to for groom and mother dance. She gave me a pretty long list with no preference of which song. I have narrowed it down to 4 songs and would like to get some outside opinions. The 4 songs I have narrowed it down to are:
Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd https://youtu.be/sMmTkKz60W8

My Wish by Rascal Flatts https://youtu.be/xz32I_GbpeU

Mother Like Mine by The Band Perry https://youtu.be/Yh8AejdapNc

The First Lady In My Life by Paul Todd https://youtu.be/5tm4INLxQgY

Let me hear what you think and maybe I'll be able to narrow down the choices a little more. Thanks!

Simple Man does seem to be very popular
  • Simple Man and My Wish are always the songs I suggest.  I never heard the Band Perry song until now and I like that one too, so you cannot go wrong.  If your mom likes them and does not have a favorite just pick the one that speaks to you the most. Or since you narrowed it down, see if she will make the final choice.

My dad picked our song and my MIL picked the one for her and my H.

  • I'm a big fan of Simple Man and My Wish as well! My FI just picked out the song he will be using for his dance with his mother. He chose 'Have I Told You Lately' by Rod Stewart.

  • Simple Man.  Yes. Yes. Yes.

I really wanted my FI mother to pick this, but he has 2 brothers.... so he's not her "only son" boo.
  • I love Simple Man. Especially the version done by Shinedown.
  • klk111415  FI chose this song for him and his mom to dance to, even though he is no longer her "only son." Different scenario, but his mom got remarried when he was a teenager after she raised him from 3 til then by herself. I still think it's an awesome song, definitely a classic to remember.
