*Trigger Warning: Sexual abuse*

I'm sure several of you have seen this, but I wanted to post anyway. So much for "family values". But hey, as long as The Gays don't get married it's all good! /sarcasm

Re: Josh Duggar

I wonder what his wife and sisters are thinking. 4 out of 5 victims were his sisters and I hope they don't somehow get negative attention or shamed for this. Josh deserves the flaming. And hell, so do his parents for not doing enough about it.

  • Ugh I just saw that too! The article I read didn't say who the victims were. Since they were all underage, they technically can't say, can they?

    Horrifying.

The article I read said when Duggar dad found out rather than going to the cops he went to the church elders and it was decided Joshy boy would be sent back to a treatment program. Pray away the rapist camp I guess? Anyways Michelle says he actually went to do manual labor with a friend of theirs.

If your son is getting in fights at school or breaking curfew, you send him away to do some manual labor for the summer and learn some hard lessons (says movies). If your son is MOLESTING YOUR DAUGHTERS you call the motherfucking cops.
Exactly. The parents handled this in such a bizarre and irresponsible way.

    Horrifying.
There was a police report that stated 4 out of 5 lived with the Duggars (Jim Bob and Michelle), so we all know it's his sisters.

  • I first saw the story a few days ago.   They lead you to believe Jim-Bob turned him in.   The article was so vague I thought it could have been nothing more than Josh kissing a girl and JB considering that as molestation.   If you can't even hold hands, lord knows simply being alone with a girl means you did something wrong.   In their eyes, at least.   Maybe it was to scare him a little?

Today more shit is coming out.  I found it interesting that Jim-Bob "turned him in" to a friend who was convicted himself of child porn because the Oprah Show was going to out them. So dad didn't turn him in, just trying to save his show.

    Sadly I'm not surprised.

  • Zero surprise. That family creeps me out.

Oh, ok, didn't see that in the article I read.

Couldn't they get in trouble with the law for contributing to knowingly putting children in harm's way? I'm not a lawyer but that would be fucking disgusting if they got off with nothing from this.

Oh, ok, didn't see that in the article I read.
Who else could it be really ?    I doubt he had much access to other sleeping girls.     JB and Michelle keep those kids on a very tight leash.   They do not appear to have many friends.

Like I said before.  I'm not surprised.  Those kids were/are being raised in a pressure cooker.  It was only a matter of time before someone went pop.

It would explain Jana a little.   She isn't married yet (which we know is unusual for them).   She doesn't really look happy.    Her brother molesting her would certainly cause some trust issues.

Jill drinks the Kool-aid she would think it's what god intended.   Jesse couldn't wait to get out of the house.  Maybe this is why?

It all happened when he was 14. He's 27 now. Statue of limitations is up.

He could go on TV tomorrow and describe in detail the level sexual abuse he committed against each girl, and not face any criminal charges for it.

And don't that make you just a little sick to your stomach.

InTouch has uploaded the entire police report.

Well, I didn't really want to do any actual work right now as it was, so....

I wonder what Anna (his wife) thinks?    Statue of limitations aside,  if you are going to molest your sisters, your own daughters are not safe either.

I have to admit that I actually didn't believe the story until I saw the police report. Partially because media outlets make up stories about celebrities all the time, but most because I couldn't believe that parents, even ones like the Duggars, would let their daughters be exposed to someone who would molest them. I mean it is just disgusting. I honestly think that I'm more disgusted with the parents and their lack of action then anything else.

I didn't really believe the early reports either.   It was very vague and no information on who the victim was or if there really was a victim.      The parents do not let their adult kids hold hands with their bf/gf before engagement, so it's not a far fetch to think they would consider 2 teens making out as molestation.      It could have been just to scare him, you know?

Now that police report is out, yeah, it's making me a little sick.    Those poor girls.  I can't even imagine how I would feel it my parents covering up for my brother.   It's so sick.

And the only reason he was even "turned in" ::rolls eyes::  was the Oprah show.  Are you fucking kidding me?   Their brand was more important to them then their daughters.

  • I wonder what counseling the girls got?   Probably told them it was their fault for being girls.

But with way she was raised (like the Duggars) why would it be a big deal? Women are just there to be men's sexual play things anyway. It honestly sounds like the family is more concerned with the fact that he touch girls before he was married than with the fact that those girls (probably his sisters) didn't give him consent.
Well consent implies women are thinking feeling people all on their own with their own rights to their own bodies.

The Duggars believe pretty much the direct opposite of that. Can't give consent if no one believes you have it in the first place.

How do you even bring that up?

Oh hey, you should probably know I sometimes would touch my sisters' genitals and breasts. NBD, just thought you should have a heads up.

According to the police report, Michele and Jim Bob didn't feel safe sending Josh to a treatment center that specialized in this sort of thing because they'd been told the other patients groomed newer patients to continue sexually molesting/assaulting once they got out.

So instead they sent him to a manual labor camp where he had "Christian counseling."
