Audubon Park St. Charles Entrance

Hello!

I need some opinions on a wedding at Audubon Park fountain. I have spoken with Audubon Institute and they told me they give a permit that allows for a ceremony between 9-5 am.  The problem is my wedding is in September and hot and I would like for it to be around 630pm. I know the permit does not allow you to reserve the space and it is first come/first serve and a public park. They also did not tell me that I could not get married after 5pm but that the permit only allowed between 9am-5pm. The park closes at 10pm. I have also seen pictures online of wedding there at night.

So my question?
Has anyone been to a wedding in Audubon park tree of life or fountain after 430 pm?
Has anyone had any experience with this issue?

I don't see how they could reprimand us for using a public park when we aren't blocking it to the public or bringing in chairs or anything. They said the permit is just for trash pick up and security and it seems to me a way of just making money off the park.

Thanks!
