At least we made it past Monday

DH is doing much better.  YAY.  I'm glad it was a short thing.  He slept almost all day yesterday. 

Of course, his boss was a total pill about him leaving to go home sick yesterday. And he got a few texts from his co-supervisors about work BS.  I get that they're a little short-staffed because people are on vacation, but DH could barely function.  I told him not to worry about it, but I wanted to yell at all of them. 

There's changes afoot at work (not bad things...just process changes). Also, I've had some difficult issues to manage lately.  And everyone is in and out and I seem to be getting all the spillover issues from the people who are on vacation. 

I'm ready for the weekend again...or just to FFWD to vacation.

My parents came into town last night to watch son's game and it was rained out.  This is their 3rd attempt to watch him play and it has been rained out every time.

Yesterday was also my mom's birthday so we all went out to eat.  After dinner, we took the kids swimming at their hotel.

Today's games have also been rained out.  Blah.  There is so much flooding in a lot of the city.  I'm so glad we live all the way up here.

Sounds like your parents are bad luck.    Meanwhile, we've hardly had any rain at all down here.  The occasional brief afternoon shower, but that's 10 minutes and done.  The grass is starting to look sad, but we're too cheap to run the sprinklers unless it gets desperate.

DD loved day 1 of horseback riding camp.  One of her afterschool friends was there, which was a nice bonus.  She got to wash and groom a horse, and then when they went riding she said one horse bumped another, which backed into her horse, and she (allegedly) almost fell off.  I asked if she was scared, and she said, "No.  I mean I was a little surprised.  But no."  This is sort of our tryout to see if she wants to do horseback riding in the fall, but if she does, something else is going to have to give.

It's pouring again today.  It's time to work on the ark building skills.  

Also, the mosquitoes (and all bugs) are horrific this year because it's been so wet.  I need to alternate bathing in Off and anti-itch cream.  Poor DefConn is all bit up and is always complaining about being itchy.

This is up there in FWP:  I panicked when I realized it was hot in the house and the a/c wasn't running.  The dang thermostat batteries were dead.
