I was supposed to be worn at a beautiful wedding in Bar Harbor, Maine.
I was going to be the main attraction of an intimate wedding.
I was going to be classic and elegant (and I still am).
When my owner put me on for the first time in Holland, before she tried on any other dress, she knew I was the one.
I’m not over the top, nor am I too dressed down. She felt that I would perfect for her beautiful wedding.
She thought I was a classic, stylish dress she could look back on and smile.
After she brought me from the US to Holland, she kept me hung up in a bag so nothing could ruin me.
Then he called off the wedding.
And she kept me in the bag.
Because she couldn’t bear to look at me.
I am a constant reminder to her of what could have been.
So she wants to sell me, to anyone looking to give me the home I deserve.
A home where I’ll get worn and admired and beautiful pictures will be taken of me on the wedding day.
She can’t take me back to Holland, because it's too far.
She originally paid $1,000 for me, but now she just wants me out of the house.
The first time I have been taken out and worn, other than at the shop, is for these photos.
I haven't been altered, because they didn't get that close to walking down the aisle.
I can’t wait to be worn by someone who actually gets married.
